Just wondering how a thread is determined to be worthy of being sticky?

Do we just dip it in honey and throw it to the mods?

Or is there a more scientific method employed?

And does it involve honey??

But seriously, I was wondering if this thread is worth a sticky?

Usually its by staff consensus or the FSME of the forum in question.

No you will catch no staff members with honey, the prefered bait for most staff is donuts...... repeat donuts (or perhaps a 1997 Brunello)

And does it involve honey??

Nope just donuts

But seriously, I was wondering if this thread is worth a sticky?

I would contact the FSME for the forum in question

If you go to the sub forum, some threads stay on top. ie stuck there.

Apparently it involves donuts...

When you view a forum, such as Aliens and UFO's, stickied threads are the ones that stay at the top of the list of threads.

I would refer to the thread you're inquiring about and see my post
they aren't going to Sticky a thread with that title as it is...make your title factual...then maybe.

You know, the more I have it explained, the more I feel I should have figured it out!!

For what it's worth, in my humble opinion your info thread would be useful in the 2012 forum!!

My guess is it may take some back hand stickiness to get it here, box of doughnut delivered to a POBox just outside of ATS HQ on the first of every month!!

Good luck!

Generally stickied threads are created by staff members or FSME's. And they're generally related to index threads (*), rules specific to a certain forum (*), FSME introductions (*), announcements for forum crackdowns (*), etc.

Some exceptions apply but they're generally created by staff (or members who used to be staff at the time the thread was created) or FSME's to avoid confusion and they tend to lean towards official forum business, information, or announcements.

But I have seen other threads get stickied that were not descriptive of the above. It's just rare.
