South Korea's navy has fired warning shots at a patrol boat from the North, the most serious skirmish since a Southern ship was sunk on 26 March.
Two patrol boats crossed on two separate occasions and warning shots were fired," an official said
The border skirmish took place close to where the Cheonan, a Southern warship, sank in March, apparently struck by a torpedo. That incident left 46 sailors dead

The North Korean military is not stupid. Crazy maybe, but not stupid. They are testing SK and so far are making SK look very weak and timid. For all of you who say NK is no threat blah blah blah..........you are idiots. The entire reason SK is acting timid and weak is because they know a war with NK would be horrific.......not matter if SK won or not.

South Korea you are VERY silly to aggravate the North - they are Rabid psychopaths, AND they have rockets and Nukes. The "torpedo" is NOT verified, that area is littered with sea-mines from long ago, AND the border there is Contested /claimed by the North. There was NO NEED WHATSOEVER for the South to be "patrolling in Free waters" in the first place, and now youre firing popguns at an unbeatable Mad dog ! who is MORE mad ? the north have a MILLION infantry lined up READY to OVERRUN the south, in maybe 2 weeks. the combined forces of America + south COULD NOT STOP them. Rather than loose, the North would unleash all theyve got, and the South would be DESTROYED. the only real hope is in Pressure on north from Russia, China, Japan, all threatening to Nuke the north Preemptively - and only America might really do that, apart from Obama recently saying he wouldnt ! idiot. take it SOFTLY, be nice to the mad dogs as much as possible, but at same time keep the subs on Red Alert to nuke the border INSTANTLY if they start to March. use a line of Low power neutron bombs, just north of the border; and Full power on their Launch sites and PyongYang, flatten the dogs before they can do more.

Whats the south been doing?making cars and televisions.
South Korea has said it will take stern action against anyone responsible for the sinking — one of its worst maritime disasters. The government was to announce the results of its investigation in the coming week
I disagree the South is and has been showing great restraint not weakness. Yes both sides know a war would be devastating. North Korea have been the aggressors there, The South have been demonstrating Tact, Maturity and Patience!

Chinese Defense Minister Urges Caution Over Cheonan Sinking
Chinese Defense Minister Liang Guanglie met with South Korean veterans in Beijing on Wednesday and advised caution over the sinking of the South Korean Navy corvette Cheonan
Liang expressed his sympathy over the disaster but added, "Even when the final result [of the investigation] is out, it is necessary to deal with it in a cool-headed and prudent way for the peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula
Meanwhile, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton spoke Tuesday with Dai Bingguo, the Chinese state councilor for foreign affairs about the Cheonan incident and North Korean issues, State Department spokesman Philip Crowley told reporters Wednesday
Crowley said Clinton had a "lengthy call with Chinese State Councilor Dai. It's about, I think, their second call this month. The call was just over one hour." Clinton and Dai talked about the ongoing investigation into the sinking of the Cheonan, and about its "potential ramifications once the investigation is completed
