No way.
He is just targeting the poor.

"Proof positive that steroids turn you into a morally-debased cretin and Californians are morons for electing this freak. "

Hmmm, morons and freaks? Could it just be they are out of money? Perhaps? Could it be they already have taxes so high on business that they are leaving the State and they can't raise them any more? Is that possible?

A beggar walks up to YOU on the street. YOU have NO money because you just paid your bills and your bank account is at ZERO. You honestly say sorry, but I have NO money to give you. He calls YOU a moron and a freak. Is he being fair?

You are aware that is the exact position California is in? They are close to loosing their credit rating all together and then if they have an emergency? You got a few billion laying around to perhaps give California some welfare? California is poor.

Let me ask you this; should California use what it has to help its Citizens or the Citizens of Mexico? Illegals are not Citizens of California. They are still Mexican Citizens. I wonder? How much is Mexico sending to California to help its own Citizens? Any at all? Hmmm? Do you suppose they don't care about their own Citizens? If they cared, they would help, would they not?

How about you? You giving until it hurts? You clearly care. The real answer for the poor is not tax money, it's money from individuals given for the right reasons. Don't sweat the small stuff. Faith based charities will take up the slack. They always do.

If I give the government say $200, it would be lucky if $100 or even $50 worth of help got to the poor. I can however, spend $200 on a load of food each month and the entire $200 worth of food goes to help, because I donate it through a Faith Based Charity. They administer it for free. The workers are volunteers. They actually care. Government people don't care. People who care won't work for the government. In fact most government jobs are welfare.

They could have merely just froze the spending until revenue caught up and then we would be in the black again. They hated Pete Wilson because he controlled the spending and was in the black. He had too much common sense. Now instead of a slight sacrifice it's going to be a train wreck.

Now we are in real trouble. They've maxed out the credit card. They have no other choice but to cut everything they can. You jack up taxes and fees too much and no ones going to be stupid enough to stay in this state.

I'm going to get bag of popcorn and sit back and watch all the fireworks. So far I still see no signs of any substantial cutbacks at all. No signs of any intelligent fiscal responsibility. Just a bunch of starving locusts looking for the next leaf in the stripped field.

Why doesn't California just liquidate it's massive surplus of assets and pay it's budget off they'll have plenty of assets left over in the end. 2nd line.

Please look at the link below.... If california wants to end the budget crisis simply by saying that it's illegal immigration and not ignorant politicians and law makers than please look at the thread I posted below... It might assist you in knowing why the Governors plan wont work.

Why we are our own worst enemy in dealing with Illegal Immigration

Billions of dollars of debt based on fractional reserve lending? Not much. It is not as if 98% of the money actually existed.
To whom exactly do we owe this debt? I didn't borrow it. I did not authorise the borrowing.
I as well as many others in this state am tired of all the state cubicle monkeys playing solitaire* on their computer because there isn't enough work for them plus making 40% higher salary than the same person actually working in the private sector and expecting people like me and you to pay for their boated salaries and fat pensions.

BTW welfare benefits in California are overly generous. We have 12% of the US population and 37% of the welfare load.

*If you are sceptical of this take a cell phone down to city hall, pick an office to make an appointment with and go up a floor or two while on your way film the people you pass or just stop and chat with them, ask them what they do and what they are working on and how long they have been doing it.

The government spies on us lets do the same to them and put it on youtube.

We actually CAN take our country back.

We need to remember why welfare was established to begin with - to prevent the poor and desperate people to rob and commit crimes against people who do have money, even if it's just a little more. Remember how it was a centuries ago! The State gives them money to keep them satisfied somewhat. They are being paid to leave the rest alone. Where do you think the world Social Security came from? A security system of some sort. Just a thought.

Cutting out childcare subsidies would be a mistake of epic proportions. Childcare is expensive. And when people have it they do work. You are talking about thousands of people losing their jobs because they can't afford childcare. He really can't be that dumb.

So the state is totally irresponsible, lets the budget go to hell. And then makes the people who are already suffering, suffer more.

Yea, sounds like sound reasoning to me.

California needs to cut back on their government employees, rich perks for all the Union members, and the cost of running government. I would guess the welfare payments and illegals are the least of their problems.

as far as the childcare goes....
if the state is paying three or more dollars an hour for the mom to put one child into daycare and go to work, and she has three or more kids that need that care.....ummm.
she has to make over $9 an hour just to have that job pay for the childcare.....and till that is paid for, I don't see how it can be advantageous for her, or the taxpayer, for her to be able to work....
she (or the government) is taking a loss on the proposition!

be better just to let her sit home and care for the kids herself....

It's all smoke and mirrors. They are deliberate imploding the economy. They want riots because they want to end this democratic republic and go back to feudal serfdom. Freedom is not the norm, it just happened that the founding fathers were far distanced from the royals and were used to governing themselves that the United States happened. The royals and the banksters set up the Nazis to take over the world, when that didn't work they planned to bring life as we know it to a screeching stop. This is their plan, to make chaos, to cause riots. If we had any power and cared about the continued future of the country we would default on the banksters' loans, they're fraudulent anyway. WWI WWII and all the wars since have been just to run up the national debt. California could solve their financial problems if they wanted to. But they don't!!!!
There are a lot of things California could do to cut down expenses. A few little things I could suggest, Stop fluoridating the water for one. We're paying the govt to poison our children. Legalizing drugs would cut down a lot on prison budgets. Healthcare is the biggest drain not just for employees but for medicaid. It costs a fortune to see a doctor. That wasn't the case before medical insurance. The welfare system has lured people into being dependant on the state. Sure some could be working if there were jobs, but a lot are elderly, stuck in nursing homes that are an abomination even with money rolling in. What will happen to these people if the government cuts them off.
I went to a meeting in California designed to make people aware of the financial needs of the school district. They threatened to close popular schools and make the kids walk to worse neighborhoods. It was a farce. The school district owned valuable land in expensive developments, set aside for future growth that wasn't going to happen. They wouldn't consider selling that, but tried to harass the taxpayers into letting them raise the taxes.
There is a lot of corruption in government. A lot of people make money off the government. It the government was doing it's job it wouldn't be insolvent.

P.S. Not as many illegals draw on the system as you think. Even for their children. 61% of welfare recipients are white.

Rampant stereoptypes aside....

Not all mothers have 3 or more kids. And many use the childcare subsidy to go to school.

They may start off having a job that pays minimum wage, but they can eventually work up to a higher position that they can self sustain on.

If the government has started out trying to live within their means and have some integrity, they wouldn't be in this situation. California is like Greece. There are so many people benefiting from the status quo that it's easier to just ignore the money problem and pass it on to someone down the road. Arne failed the state and set up all sorts of dependencies in the system.

There is nothing more selfish that a socialist who's benefits you're trying to take away.

California needs a true leader to come into power and clean house.

Unlike many in this thread, you sir are genius. Most people haven't figured out how such a broke state pays welfare when the state has no money to pay it!

"Oh have mercy on the state!" they cry... "it's doing its best to feed the poor... there will be riots if the state doesn't pay..."

*whack* "...welfare.."

*whack* "... why you hitting me?"

Senator: "Stop wasting time you moron before we put you in jail. Get to work, earn the check so we, The State Incorporated, can garnish it."

They cry: "Why my wages... doesn't.... doesn't the State pay welfare through taxes?"

*whack*

*whack*

*whack*

*jail door slams shut*

Senator: "You asked too many questions... your taxes don't pay for answers...stupid... now sit there and shut-up while we barter a federal grant on your timed served."

Does he have a time machine? Total Recall?

How the hell does the Govenator implement statues that existed before the year 2000 when his term in office was after the year 2000?

Like many who totally don't know what it was like under previous governors... you're insane.

Thank you for pointing this out. People forget why white people are the "majority".
________

When trying to find ways to cut back, it's difficult. Highways? Education?
Prisons? What's it going to be? It's not an easy determination to make.
As I stated earlier....go for the poor. They are an easier target because they have no real power.

I am in favor of reducing welfare rolls, of course. I'm just curious to see how this idea plays out. Results have been theorized for decades about what would happen in this scenario.

From a sociological perspective, and for reseach, I'll find it very interesting. Who knows? We could all be wrong, and it might not be the train wreck we expect.

But from a humanitarian perspective, face it - it sucks.

Hispanics claim on paper that they are white a suprising amout of the time.

When you come down to race technicaly they are correct. there are only three races.

Caucasoid, Negroid and mongoloid.

All other subdivions of race are fabricated for political motives.
