I hope someone can help me.

I cannot get rid of this search bar. I've tried Spybot, Adware6 and Norton 2004.

I've searched online for this pesky searchbar and can't find how to uninstall it. I have Windows XP Home Edition, and have searched for it in may Add/Remove section.

It keeps popping up and occasionally changing my homepage.

Any help you can give me is appreciated.

After running a test with spybot, it should give a list of adware that it found. If you click on one of them it will give a brief description. Read them.

I think the one you are referring to has a file called setup.exe installed somewhere on your c drive. Run something like Norton and download some service packs from the microsoft website.

1. go to the search 2000 website and uninstall it.
2. or go to control panel - add/remove program select it, remove it, and wait for uninstall window to open. Hold alt and tab to cycle through the open applications.

Get HijackThis run it. Then post your log here. Ill see whats wrong with it and what you need to take out.

Download Spybot 1.3, update it, and immunize your system against the 1500-something products that it blocks, i'm pretty sure search200 is in there, it's an old one.

Thank you for all of your help. I did run Hijack this and was able to figure out how to get rid of search200. I found a ton of other things that was on my computer also. I can't believe how fast my computer runs.

As a side note, I've never gone to any porn sites. I had gone to add/remove several times and it was not there. My spybot is a version 1.2 and never found it. Ad-aware 6.0, ditto.
