personally my belief is that radon gas couses such rainbows structures...

That could be a possibility.

These are quite common.

Also, do you know how many earthquakes happen daily? Why focus on two quakes only?

I doubt this is anything.

Sorry to piss on one hell of a co in ke dink but if rainbow clouds mean major earthquake then we are screwed cuz the sun brings them on

Pausing for one half a second to allow your brain to remember why a cloud would have a rainbow reflection...........................

Yes, now you see why this is silly

I truly do hope this is nothing...

A year ago, had you asked me what my thoughts were regarding the whole 2012 thing\biblical apocalypse, I would have laughed. However, these past several years have shown us nothing but bizarre weather patterns, frequent earthquakes, and other similar events, all increasing in frequency and severity as of late. Not to mention the economic collapse to stir things up even more...

I find it curious that people report these rainbows before a major quake, and of all the crazy stuff we debate on here, is it really that far fetched to ponder there is more than just coincidence?

If anything, people should take these things as a warning, better safe than sorry. Preperation is key to surviving the aftermath of a disaster. Let's all pray that mother nature gives us a break for a while...not that we deserve it. If I was her i'd be pissed!

Oh noes! 22 reasonably minor earthquakes in a seismically active area right next to a major fault line. It MUST be HAARP!

I saw discl0sur3 post the quake list, but saw no mention by him of HAARP or anything regarding it.

But nice job trying to put words into people's mouths.

Earlier during the day around 5ish my dad told me he saw a rainbowish cloud, exactly what was pictured in the news article.

Later on I went to my sisters and noticed it myself. I looked up and saw a rainbow, but no cloud behind it, just the blue sky with a "strip" of rainbow.

ALSO; the clouds that were out at the time, were circled, and puffy.
Which is the first time I can account for that I've seen these types of clouds, and also the rainbow effect.

The clouds aslo had this effect on them.

I have tried to look for pictures of the clouds I saw but could not even see one that was close to it.

Picture "Oreo Cakesters" (But clouds ofcourse) in the sky.

Lol.....Sorry best example I got.

Im waiting for the inevitable post of HAARP being activated within the last 24-72 hours,

as phage said though without knowing what category the quake is there is no point panicking because even if this does mean an earth quake, that particular quake that the "rainbow" is proceeding may be like an 0.0001 on the Richter scale or something negligible like that and the only way to tell is to wait around and see what happens.

Never being the one to disappoint

It does seem now like it was caused by the cumulative effect of all those little quakes. It would be a damned shame, however if all that fine sitcom and 'reality tv' talent were wiped off the face of the Earth though...

People, you really need to do a research on REAL earthquake clouds. The colours are nothing but iridescence caused by sunlight being refracted by ice crystals and wate droplets in clouds.

The colour has no bearing at all

Is Bill Hicks dream finally coming true?

don't know much about how clouds are linked to earthquakes (apart from the purely anecdotal) but the real sign of any prominent seismic activity would be all the creatures making for the hills.

when you see a river of rats heading away from all the filth, it might be a good idea to follow suit, eh?

You know what I think? The fact this this earthquake has been predicted so heavily by various sources, is being posted all over the Internet, and the rainbow clouds makes me strongly believe that nothing is going to happen. Why?

This would be the first time in history that a "doomsday" prediction was actually right.

You couldn't pay me all the money on the planet to live out west. Too many fault zones, firestrorms, sand storms, mudslides, and blizzards.
I perfer my Hurricanes hands down. Course then now we have the idiots of BP to deal with. Sighs.

As long as you stay in upper-mid-CA, you'll never have to face a single one of those disasters. People view CA as a single state with a single set of people, but you'd be surprised how different the areas are. There's a reason that a lot of people think that there should be a North and South CA as separate states.

I don't think anyone can say with certainty that a major earthquake will or will not happen within a given time window. California is overdue for a major quake.

That said, one thing I can say for certain at least is that here in California we have minor quakes every single day, on a continuous basis. This is true for most seismically active areas, and the apparent "swarm" of quakes listed earlier in this thread is not at all unusual for much of the west coast in general. Most of those are too small to even be felt.

Salvation at last.....

Thanks Oz for clearing that up. (Could have saved us a couple of pages)
So what's your opinion on the similar looking weather phenomenon in the OP when compared to Chile and China??

I mean, i saw that China-quake cloud and it had colors as well...

Peace
