Rainbow similar to before China and Chile quake seen over Los Angeles

Add to the coincidence the M5.1 underneath the Juan de Fuca plate yesterday. I never saw it mentioned here on ATS but it does seem relevant when we get colorful clouds in an other location over the same faultline.

Hmmm....still hope GreeneyedLeo is correct.

This is going to get tense. I hope its nothing, but someone said a huge earthquake would hit LA in May if i recall.

Stupid car alarms keeping me up. SERIOUSLY! can't they just put a beeper on the persons keys so THEY know their car is being robbed, and not the neighborhood?

Im not weatherperson - just responding based on what I have read and my own experience with seeing these many times. Its odd how much I see them in Colorado. In fact, I once emailed OzWeatherman (over a year ago) with some pictures because I had not really seen them before. I wanted his opinion on what I was seeing. Lived all over the country and visited outside the country and never seen as many as I have here. Not sure why that is so, but it is so. Maybe OzWeatherman can chime in - as he is a zillion times more knowledgable than I am

Now, now, let's wait for the God of weather known as Oz to deliver us from doubt. I first want to see an expert comment on that cloud before i start to panic.....although we are very close to beginning of the weekend so a little blind panic would be welcome.

Good point....here's a list of the rest of the seismic activity in the area. It certainly seems like something is building, 22 earthquakes in 24 hours!
I pray he's correct...

The youtube video posted by order in chaos said the rainbow cloud was 'about 30 minutes' before the China earthquake. About how long before the Chile earthquake were they seen?

Might be an "earthquake light," but we won't know for sure until after it happens. But, if it is a genuine photo, many have witnessed it and you live in the area I'd suggest moving as far away as possible or heading for some kind of protective shelter for the next few days just to be on the safe side or if you can't travel out of the area then I'd inform yourself very quickly what to do in the event of an earthquake!

Good question. Apparently it was around the same timeframe preceding the event.

It is possible this rainbow phenomenon was related to the 20 some odd earthquakes that actually occurred along the west coast today (see above post)

Just thought I would add a little more info to this. I recently did some searching on this topic and found that it is said if the rainbor colors are inverted, than it is suposed to precede a quake. SO..that means that the red would be on top, and the blue towards the ground.

Good luck with trying to convince a Californian to move because of the threat of a possible earthquake. They just look at you with a blank stare, as if to say :"Dude, if i had to move underground every time a quake is expected to hit, i'd be better off moving in with the mole-people."

So what's the window on this. I mean, two hours, six, a day, a week? A 2.5 quake? 4.0?

If any earthquake of any magnitude happens within the next month is it going to be, "See! Remember the cloud! The earthquake! It can't be a coincidence!"

Im waiting for the inevitable post of HAARP being activated within the last 24-72 hours,

as phage said though without knowing what category the quake is there is no point panicking because even if this does mean an earth quake, that particular quake that the "rainbow" is proceeding may be like an 0.0001 on the Richter scale or something negligible like that and the only way to tell is to wait around and see what happens.

Lol...I believe a prediction could be considered accurate if the phenomenon occurs within a reasonable timeframe of the actual predicted event. In this case, let's take into consideration that the previous two earthquakes happened within an hour of the rainbow.

It's safe to say that today's event is more than likely unrelated at this point however; the swarm of 20+ earthquakes that occurred along the west coast today may be associated.

If this is the case it would seem to suggest that the magnitude, at least, has little or no effect on the appearance of this phenomenon.

I predicted LA only because I hate Stern and the Lakers......

God that would be scary if it did happen.

But I also had dream tell me a date of May 19 but not sure what it meant.

personally my belief is that radon gas couses such rainbows structures...
