pretty soon, you'll have the first mexican/american president and you'll need to know spanish to order your big mac combo.

Yeah sure, because the First Mexican American President will have run for office speaking entirely in Spanish, and then will refuse to protect the borders and advocate amnesty for all who cross illegally. Hey! Wait a minute, we don't need a Mexican American President to accomplish that.

Sí hola, quisiera un combo libras trimestre con queso, super grande, y un favor McFlurry. ¿Puedo tener una ficha para ir al baño por favor?

I haven't read the whole trhead, but just wanted to throw in my 20 DKRs worth ...

No nation should ever give up it's flag, and of course the same goes for the American Nation.

The poll referred to in the OP is probably tinted by people wanting to provoke (not least FOX), and is probably partly because some people aren't that proud to be American anymore.

What we see on Danish television is school kids standing every morning, hands over hearts and pledging allegiance to the nation and the flag that represents it.

Perhaps it is becoming increasingly difficult to pledge allegiance to some of the actions carried out abroad and domestic.
Perhaps silly wars abroad and corrupt banks are rubbing people the wrong way.
Perhaps Political correctness at the same time as hatefull preachers have free roam on tv and on radio is making people wonder what is going on.

Perhaps the "Lock'n'Load" crowd are scaring the living daylight out of them. Would the American people really want to have a new non-elected goverment after a revolution conducted by people who doesn't support democracy?

No matter what.
The flag is a symbol of the American Nation. Instead of banning it, you should strive to make the pledge mean something to be proud of.

...from the fox hole itself...

905,705 (responders) This is not a scientific poll.

...this is a marketing tool, just like every other poll publicized by a news network (not to be confused with organizations who actually employ legitimate journalists)... if you let their stupid poll get you all riled up, you reacted exactly as fox wanted you to...

I just noted the date on the screenshot picture u posted guess what it's of the same date as your post 15-05-2010. Most likely you yourself posted that and took a screenshot of it. Oh and the poll is more than weeks old..nice try but didn't put much effort in hiding the date which proves that someone made a thread today to blame others.

Clearly the U.S. flag is racist, discriminatory, and unwelcoming for millions of immigrants and minorities who are forced to view this symbol of oppression and greed on a daily basis.

We must adopt a flag that reflects a new spirit of being open to all ideas, peoples, cultures, languages, and religion without causing offense or distress to any person.

I propose this:

When I read the OP for the first time tonight, I knew exactly WHY the poll was taken. It, of course, involved the 5 California students who were sent home for wearing shirts with the American flag on them, on Cinco de Mayo. I read through five pages, before one sensible member, Libertygal, posted the correct information. If I could, I'd give Libertygal a big Applause. I hope she got one from the Mods.
It is amazing how many members read a post, without ever investigating the background, or even reading the entire link, before posting. All I can say is I am quite disappointed with the lack of research and facts. Even after Libertygal posted those facts, people continued their wild accusations concerning Foxnews, and the "PTB".
This thread should be a lesson regarding how rumors and conspiracies start- take a story, distort the facts, then swing away at liberals, conservatives, the "PTB", etc. I'm surprised that nobody brought the "Reptilians" into the thread!
