Anti-porn provision sinks Dem jobs bill

thehill.com

But the Republican motion to recommit the bill -- a parliamentary tactic that gives the minority one final chance to amend legislation -- contained language prohibiting federal funds from going "to salaries to those officially disciplined for violations regarding the viewing, downloading, or exchanging of pornography, including child pornography, on a federal computer or while performing official government duties."

That provision scared dozens of Democrats into voting with

Here is the government in action. It is absurd that the republicans would attached this rider to a jobs bill. It is also disturbing that the democrats would not simply vote for it.

If you are in a private company that does content review and you are caught watching porn, you are potentially fired. Why not the same standard for government employees?

This rider only applys to folks who have been caught in the first place, essentially making viewing porn while on the job within the federal government a firing offense.

The reason they would not sign this is that the government unions would immediately object and that would put the democrats between a rock and a hard place, either supporting unions and hence supporting porn or the reverse.

Typical republican behavior. They oppose and obstruct EVERYTHING the dems have tried to do and then they'll say 3 years from now. WHat did Obama accomplish? Heck they are already saying it.

If people are stupid enough to go back to the party of Bush then they deserve everything they have gotten so far. I hope the first thing the republicans do is give a bailout to insurance companies and trillions more to Halliburton.

If Republicans get full control, expect a full backlash for what the democrats did. But now this article makes me think do they actually watch porn on their downtime?

I don't care if they're all porn stars. I do care that my tax dollars are going to folks who are sitting about watching porn flicks though.

Perhaps its all about the government nationalizing the porn industry the same way they have nationalized the auto and banking sectors. Could help with deficit reduction.

its interesting how they include child pornography in this,

in its own right should be illegal. well come to think of it it IS!!!

to think if they are watching porn in their down time

child porn is a main contribute.. well...

enough to separately mention

this in its self is shocking in it own right.

but then again not. as most people in places of power also seem to be the most twisted, backstabbing and untrustworthy

how else do they get their in the first place.???

good men never make it to the top. they are unfortunately just to nice.

why is the porn industry is blooming??

like the large weapon manufactures, are they doing a good thing??

takes less brain power to figure out the second question but ultimately the result is the same.

in this world the bad and the ugly trump the good.

Didn't the Democrats attach things unrelated to health to the Healthcare Bill? along with many other bills...more like typical Washington Republicrats...they're the same thing.
