I was reading the post about the new Matt Damon movie and saw the You tube video there about the guy talking about the gulf of Aden, decided to google it and this came up about Japan.

I don't know about all the stuff people claim about whats going on there but I do find it really odd that Japan is building a navel base there.

It will be to protect their ships from fatbeard and his pesky Somali Pirates......

that will be the only reason Japan would need to build a base outside of its waters, especialy in the Gulf of Aden......

Either that or they know of the location of that stargate orthe Ark...

I have no doubt the U.S. will finance this. Ah, but I recall the tiny trucks Japan donated to the war against terrorism, beginning with the Gulf War. loL. By the way, the U.S. called that the Gulf War. However I received a ribbon for particpation in the War of South East Asia. What do the folks in that area call that war? Maybe the War of American Agression in the Gulf of Iran? lol. Or was it the War of the Arabian Sea?

Meanwhile, Japan got a pretty good start in industry from salvaging the steel the U.S and allies forces left behind after the war.Clever people, for sure, but they were denutted after WWII. I'm not sure they can become a military power now. Too small and overshadowed by China,

A fitting end for them, eh? Let them strike a chord that resonates as a military power, and maybe their women will become the prisoner whores of Chinese and Koreans. Yep, karma is a bitch, and she has some sisters, too.

There is no Japanese Navy, so I don’t see them building a base.

Following Japan's surrender to the Allies at the conclusion of World War II, and Japan's subsequent occupation, Japan's entire imperial military was dissolved in the new 1947 constitution which states, "The Japanese people forever renounce war as a sovereign right of the nation and the threat or use of force as a means of settling international disputes." Japan's current navy falls under the umbrella of the Japan Self-Defense Forces (JSDF) as the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF).

More like the Japanese Coast Guard.

The Japanese "Coast Guard" has more firepower than most country's navies.

8 guided missile destroyers
31 destroyers
5 helicopter destroyers
8 destroyer escorts
20 submarines

They actually have more destroyers and submarines than the UK's Royal Navy or the French Navy.

Let's hope it's not the beginning of a New Greater East Asia Co prosperity Sphere
