Amateur Video Of Gulf Oil Slick - Worse Than BP Admits

Video is from Alabama resident John Wathen as a volunteer pilot flew him over the area where the oil rig sank. Officials have stopped guessing at the amount of oil leaking although some speculate it may be closer to 1 million gallons per day.

Don't let BP spin this into something trivial.

"It's not a leak, it's a volcano spewing oil"

This really is absolutely horrible.

Good find OP. The fact that they're making it seem so much smaller than it is makes me angry beyond words.

F--- BP...here's an interesting tidbit from this article

The Common Loon cafe is still serving oysters caught each morning locally, but they aren't serving them to the hundreds of BP contract laborers who are on the island for oil spill preparation.

That's one of the complaints that local business people have with BP. With beach rentals down tremendously, BP isn't housing its crews here either.

"I don’t know what kind of backward thinking that is," said resident Patrick Hemphill. "Seems like it would be an easy solution."

pretty serious business. This is being brought to us in this fashion See no evil, Hear no evil. Indeed, more marine life will be dying, that also included Dolphins folks. Mamels and stuff not mindless fishes and exoskeleton'd invertebrate's. Not to mention if it gets into the Mississippi its real bad. Not only will budweiser contain Mississippi mud water it will have oil in it..

Yes it is much worse than the media lets on. They keep calling it a "spill" and say the well is "leaking". When in actuality it's spewing hundreds of thousands of gallons of oil into the ocean EVERY....SINGLE...DAY.

Imagine what would happen if you were to dump a quart of oil into your swimming pool. Imagine if you dumped all of the dirty oil you changed out of your car's engine into that same pool. I still don't think this even comes close to what is going on in the Gulf right now.

As you read this another 150 gallons of oil or so just spewed out into the Gulf based on the VERY conservative estimate of 250,000 gallons a day "leaking" into the ocean.

I highly recommend people take a look through these pics.

This oil spill is being GREATLY underplayed, and will affect the Southern US, Mexico, and the Caribbean Islands, and it probably won't stop there. We are in for a wild ride.

Terrible images indeed...

I dont wanna go into apocaliptic stuff but it does resemble like blood from the sea... a frightening bleeding ocean...

What we are going to explaing this to our kids?

How we are going to apologize for a terrible future?

Is gonna really sucks the life for the next generation...

This is the worst disaster to hit the gulf ever probably. But why do you
say to call in the Navy? Do you think they have some magic wand that
they can wave over this mess? Why do you think they can come to the
rescue? What expertise would they have over an oilwell disaster?

Let the oil experts get it figured out. They probably will ruin the gulf
before it's over, but the Navy? Give me a break.

People, one word for it:
KARMA.

You all know the petrodollars were the reason for invading Iraq, because of the oil, they have killed *Thousands* of people, and now, the US shorelines will have what the Gov. wanted So bad: oil.
