I think this had less to do with the new law and more to do with the fact that they had had run ins with each other before.
Sure this is racist. There was a drunk white guy who shouted racial comments to someone from a different race, then shot him. There may have been some
mitigating circumstances but I think that he did the crime and he's going to do time.
I think that the races of the individuals involved are irrelevant. What is relevant is one person's use of deadly force.
