Major AT&T Uverse outage

So I just got off the phone with uverse tech support. They are telling me that they have an outage covering three major cities in Texas. Is this perhaps something bigger than Uverse? My phone is not so easy to search the internet from, so I am turning to ATS for some intelligence on any internet anomalies.

at&t likes to false flag outages so they can give you "6 months free whatever"

so you will get use to the service and keep it after the 6 months

Maybe so, but I have been a Uverse customer for years and never have I had problems like this.

This has been going on for a couple of weeks in South Texas. My boss' iPhone is driving her crazy.
