For anyone who is in the UK (Since as far as I understand the members from the US may not be able to watch) a new Documentary is about to air titled
“Derren Brown Investigates" where a well known British Illusionist and paranormal Skeptic, Derren Brown investigates various psychics and
their claims as well as some other cases in search of personal paranormal truth to a subject viewed in a skeptical manner.
Anyone who is currently in the UK or simply knows a little bit about Derren Brown should already be aware of his views on the paranormal, particularly
his views on psychics (scroll down to watch a compelling interview about his views on psychics and the paranormal) that being so this should really
turn out to be a fascinating and informative as well as enlightening paranormal documentary, something which we are not used to in the UK and it’s
certainly worth watching even if your interest in the paranormal hasn’t peaked
Please see this trailer.......
*It is scheduled to Air on the 10th, May, 2010 At 10PM UK Time*
Episode 1:
Derren Brown takes off around the globe to uncover some extraordinary supernatural and psychic claims. He starts in Liverpool, meeting Joe Power,
who claims the ability of communicating with the dead, including John Lennon. In this episode, Joe comes face to face with Derren's discerning eye.
Expect the unexpected..
There are 3 documentaries lined up one with a British psychic medium (see above), another with a ghost hunter from the US, and a third concerns a
Russian system of human development that claims to ‘cure’ blindness
And personally I see no one better to host a programme such as this than Derren Brown primarily because of his own views on the paranormal and that he
won’t just blindly believe what people are telling him, particularly a psychic.
If anything he'll openly challenge them as well as his own beliefs on the subject.
This is a fascinating interview where Derren Brown shows to Richard Dawkins why he believes psychics to be fake.
Yes, have seen the adverts on the telly for a while now and have been looking forward to this.
I'm a Derren Brown fan because of how and why he does what he does. I like that he explicitly states what he does is not magic, psychic abilities or
the paranormal but instead, is all about predictable human behaviour(s).
I'm not saying i don't believe in the paranormal or psychic abilities - in fact I do believe in them - but I like that Derren isn't conning people
as the other self-proclaimed "psychics" do, like that complete waste of space Derek Accoah (sp?).
Thank you and Yes, I’ve been somewhat of a fan of him myself as the way he does the things he does is just pure genius and yes I especially like how
beforehand he makes it absolutely clear that what he is doing is not paranormal phenomenon and that he is not using psychic powers etc.
So I'm quite excited about this upcoming documentary that’s set to air in a few days and I’m particularly excited and fairly surprised that he
is doing a show that is paranormal such as this and I'm hoping that It reaches our expectations.
I have to say I really respect Derren.. A little off topic but..
A few years back my cousin had a incurable disease, he was a member of the magic circle and was an excellent magician..
Anyhow when Derren heard of his illness he did EVERYTHING he could to help him through it, by practising tricks, devising new ones etc.. He visited my
cousin on a weekly basis and really helped him in his last days..

What channel is this going to be on?..I'd expect Channel 4 as they seem to show most of his other stuff...
Yes, Channel 4 at 22:00 on Monday 10th May.
I can't wait to see this. I share Derren Brown's attitude towards this stuff and I'd particularly like to see how people go about explaining (and
proving the existence of) their 'powers'.
I like Derren Brown, would have loved to have made it to one of his live shows, he is incredible at manipulating people with not much more than the
power of subtle suggestion.
Oh i would so love to go to one of his shows as well, I mean he's actually quite funny as well when you see him on the television and the stuff he
does is just amazing and mind blowing but i'm betting it's seriously nothing compared to seeing him in real life.
I'm just hoping this show will be as successful if not more as some of his other shows from the past.
this is interesting to me thanks for the post. can you post the network that iars this documentary. I hope it is bbc since i might be able to view
it off of their website. if not can you post the exact name and year it was recorded please so i can look for it to view using my library which can
get anything/
I bet I know what we're doing tomorrow night at 10pm
Can't wait, this programme looks real interesting ! I'm a bit of a sceptic on a lot of these contacting the dead claims, but on the other hand I do
believe certain people are gifted and do have this amazing ability....

While I feel that Derrin Brown is as arogant as they come, I will watch this show with interest.
You do know that's just his on-stage persona, right? He really isn't like that. Much of what he does, and the reason why he's so successful at
what he does, is down to confidence.
And I think sometimes people interprete confidence as arrogance.
EDIT: I should have quantified that "He really isn't like that". I met him at a company do in London some years back, he was there for whatever
reason. He seemed like a normal guy, very approachable, funny and chatty. Didn't dominate the conversations, just a guy like the rest of us. He
must have been bored out of his mind tho, but hid it well!
