off over 1,000 points at one point.

www.businessinsider.com...

The dam has burst. Europe is exploding.

The market is in total freefall.

Gold has broken $1200.

The euro is trading under $1.26.

Ladies in Gentlemen, this is a market crash.

Now the market is off over 660 991, and now it's down less then 700

More to come..

Cramer is saving the day!!!!

"Cramer is amazing.

He came on air to talk with Erin Burnett, and the Dow gained 400 points from a loss of 900 to being down 500.

All hail Cramer."

I would not call this a crash I would call this a very fluxuating day where it could end at -100 or negative -2,000, who knows. We just have to watch until 4:00 p.m.

Can't you see that the economy is in recovery mode and everything is fine ?
They told that on TV and so on : "we are at the end of the economic crisis, so no dangers "
-People were fired ? "impossible, economy is going well !"
-Professors and policeman were fired ? "no, that a false perception, because we are on the growing trend of economy"

The DOW is down ? "no, your internet browser must be down, because I assure you, there is no more crisis " !

I bet I will read that tomorow in my newspaper !

VIX is up 22 points today to 47 - that's a triple in the last week I believe.

I almost fell out of my chair watching the Dow drop almost 1000 points. I have never witnessed that kind of drop so fast before. It came back and its only down 400 at the moment.

I agree with you... but for a fluxuating day it's a big one ! I still hope to see a -2000 or something like that in one hour ! let cross your fingers !

We have had larger percentage drops overall in one day - but in my 27 years in the biz I have never seen volatility like that - hell it was moving over 200 points in under 10 minutes at one point!

Wow, what a buying opportunity at -1000! Anyone buy on the low? Very healthy IMO. The equity from europe will come to the US market. Definitely risky, but plenty of opportunity as well....

Best,
SN

Amazing to watch it lose so much and jump back so fast. I wonder who is trying to save the crash.

I think what you just saw on the upside were some fast electronic trades selling and grabbing even lower.

I guess the summer sell off started early!

At one point we were within 50 points of the circuit breaker cut in.

Because it was between 2PM and 2:30PM EDT that would have closed the market for 30 minutes.

Kramer mentioned something about being after 230 pm that's why the market didn't get halted. No idea what the rules are.

at 988.50 that was the biggest inter daily drop ever

Last 15 mins. is going to be interesting. The market was overdue for a correction, regardless.

ALSO, the democrats are passing financial reform MUCH stronger than expected. Looks like the FED might be audited after all!! Good news for many. Those that rail against the fed and US monetary policy should be hitting the phones of their senators.

Best,
SN
