yeah thats all real mature and productive setting your finance ministry on fire...Maybe the "EU" should get back to its roots [or a two-tier system], Benelux, Germany France Italy, the Scandinavian states, just those..keep it simple, and trust worthy

Still waiting for mature suggestions for actions then.

Realistic ones, as well...

You should move to another country that is not about to go into bankruptcy. China is probably a good choice.

My honest thoughts are that it's time for the people of Greece to take back control of their country. I would never advocate violence but I think it needs to be a people's revolution that ends in a complete restructuring of government, a new constitution, and dissolution of all sovereign debt. Leave the EU and structure new tax laws that make Greece a tax free zone for any business that moves there and hires 90% Greek workers, or anybody that moves there and invests $100M inside Greece. Make the country so attractive to businesses and investors that they flock there from every other country, and your people will ride the wave of prosperity. And never, ever, allow your new government to borrow money again.

You know whats going to happen here?

The 99.999% of Greek people who are not setting fire to their own buildings are going to turn on the Anarchists who are..

Especially if they kill any more innocent people..

What a joke.. Burning down your own government buildings and trashing your city..

Every country has these people.. they're the scumbags that break into your house or steal your wallet.. They have nothing to lose and are just looking for an excuse to cause some 'legal' damage..

That is actually a good idea..

Just a couple of issues off the top of my head though that would be hard to overcome..

Who would invest in a country that just left the EU, needs to set up a new currency, has almost full unemployment at that stage, junk ratings, no access to the EU markets that gave them wealth and is renowned for anti capitalist anarchists?

Em.. Not me anyway..

Greece can't leave the EU.. Now without turning into Kosovo.. It could do with its own currency right now alright but other than that.. it wouldn't help anything..

I think its funny, all the people here who say "Leave the EU" at the drop of a hat.. That would seriously damage the economy of the state in question.. If even just with loss of its access to the free market and the trade barriers that would instantly explode all around it.. Not to mention the collapse in market confidence as a result of the same.. And a myriad of other problems..

As he stated, you make Greece a safe have for........wait for it.............CAPITALISM! Wow, what a concept. This EU Socialist crap needs to be put to bed and the regional competition that worked so well before put back in place.

As soon as Greece had its own currency again, it could devalue it to make it's exports VERY attractive. Which means it sells more than its competitors, which means that it begins producing more than it consumes, which makes it a safe investment, and round and round it goes.

Regional is the name of the game. This world Socialist crap is all about burning up energy we don't have so a few oligarchs can attempt to control the world.

And as I stated.. its a good idea..

Just tell me how the Greeks are going to get by for the next decade if they leave the EU?

Where did I mention anything about Socialism being good?

How will they get by WITH the EU?

The EU is a huge scam designed specifically to destroy sovereign nations and harness them to global socialist bull crap.

Greece will absolutely be better off severing all ties with the blood sucking bureaucrats in Brussels. The EU is reason they are in this mess. More EU will just make it more of a slave nation.

Kick out the IMF. Kick out EU. Take back your country.

You don't seem to have a clue about the basic economics of how the EU works..

Believe me, I used to shout the same things a few years ago.. Now Im learned in the whole situation and its a lot more complicated that just leaving and everything being hunky dory and the Greeks being back in the money at the drop of a hat..

So please.. Explain exactly to me how Greece would be better off walking straight out of the EU now and being a complete non investible, battleground for the next decade with nowhere to export to and noone to gain support from..

Any kind of sensical and intellectual answer will do here people..

And btw.. a basic knowledge of the EU would tell you that it is not Socialist or anything of the sorts.. It allows borderline socialism in its member states however..
