Exposed: Christian leader caught with male escort says he needed help with his luggage

rawstory.com

WARNING, THE FULL STORY CONTAINS SOME PROFANITY***

A Christian leader and prominent neuro-psychiatrist who co-founded the Family Research Council with evangelist James Dobson took a ten-day European vacation with a callboy he met through RentBoy.com and was caught in an airport with the escort by a Miami newspaper.

The escort said he had met George Rekers, professor of Neuropsychiatry and Behavioral Science at the University of South Carolina, on RentBoy.com. Rekers, when confronted, didn't deny that he'd met the callboy online, but said he had hired him to help him carry his baggage a

Now I really don't give a damn what a person does in their private life, but I do hate the stench of hypocrisy, and that's what we have here.

George Rekers said he didn't know what the guys "trade" was, but I would suggest that if you need help with your luggage, you don't look for that help on a site called rentboy.com, particularly if when caught out and photographed you are carrying your OWN luggage.

If it wasn't for the hypocrisy that surrounds this aspect of peoples personal lives, I wouldn't say a word - but let's face it, this guy is a hypocrite of the highest order.

He asserts that being gay is a mental disorder that can be cured - and he also happens to be a neuro-psychiatrist.

It seems that self analysis isn't George's strong point - or maybe he was attempting to "cure" the young man for whom he seems to have a penchant, particularly as he thinks homosexuality is a sin...

I wonder if they caught the escort holding his saggy bags when he made that statement.

Is stuff like this just endless or what.

It seems that within certain sections of EVERY major religion, hypocrisy knows no bounds.

Live and let live is my motto, and whilst I might be biased I think the world would be a better place if more people thought the same way.

I agree, I am all for live and let live.
But the people most vocal about the manner in which we live, don't let that get in the way of their own living.
I guess that is why we keep seeing the same things, from the same people. The same ones telling us how to live.

And the very same people are trying to tell us that muslims want to impose their faith on us, when these so called christians do exactly the same.

Ultimately, IF there is a god, it's up to him to judge us, NOT some jumped up self important and self appointed hypocritical "guardian" of morality.

We're witnessing conspiracy facts being exposed in our lifetime. This is not some kinda UFO disclosure mumbo jumbo.

Apparently, Christian leaders/priests are in a network of private pleasures with gays and bisexuals.

We must give a damn about their private lives because they preach and swear being on path of truth. If these priests/leaders go astray in their objective, members of the public must pressure them to step down.

I understand why this would be a topic of conversation here on ATS. Is this really breaking news though?

Well, yes, as the story was published today and shows the inherent hypocrisy in certain organisations.

Couple that with the fact that Reker says homosexuality can be cured by psychiatry (and he is one) and I see a conspiracy element.

In future, I would request that you alert the mods to the thread if you think it is not in the right place, rather than semi-derailing the thread by asking a question better answered by those who enforce the T&C.

Thanks.

What facts are those? Can you provide some mainstream press articles that confirm and back up what you are saying about this cabal concerning high level Christian leaders?

On a conspiracy site you want reports by mainstream news outlets?

They have as much credibility as Pravda did in the 70's.

Would you care to add your thoughts on the OP?

It's time to get out the lie detector test for both of them. The officer asks, "Was there any hanky panky." "Ummm No!", says the preacher. "BZZZZZ - Scribble Scribble Scribble!" said the machine.

It must be a defective machine. Throw it out and get another one. Satan must have tampered with the first one.

If you don't practice what you preach then get off the stage and stop preaching to the choir.

Look, it doesn't have to be even from mainstream articles, i'm just wanting that particular poster to provide links to information for the claims that he is making. Make a case for it instead of just throwing out ridiculous generalizations. I'm curious as to how this all connects under the claim that the poster is making.

Here is what my thoughts are on the matter: I think the press likes to report on self-loathing gays who have gone insane trying to address their sexuality under a cover of a religious life. Do I think this is the norm with those that are involved in the cloth? Absolutely not. Do I believe that there is a lot of piety going on and that there are a ton of people involved in Christian organizations that are pretty nefarious? Absolutely. Will I be generalizing an entire group of people based on the actions of one person? No.

Well I believe these pervert priests think in their simple little minds that if they fornicate with a man/boy they are not going against gods will as they are not fornicating with a women.
There was some priest in australia I think? that was his excuse.
