news.yahoo.com...

Why? Honestly, who in there right mind would tell the world (yes, believe it or not, we do have enemies) what we have? Are they trying to get us killed? The first rule in any fight is to not tell the other guy what you got, thats basic knowledge. Cant wait to see the left try and rationalize and praise Obama on this one...way to much kool-aid drinkin goin on if this gets any praise.

I know people typically forget about this, but there is a very very good chance that if there is any serious nuclear exchange, we don't need to worry about just "us" being killed.

To paraphrase Einstein, if WWIII has a nuclear exchange, WWIV will be fought with rocks and sticks.

Respectfully, I disagree with your premise. The US military is far and away the most advanced in the world. Everybody knows it. It's suicide to go to war with us. That fact is a major deterrent. Now, for the other countries, it's a different story. If you're just a little poodle at a poker table full of big bad german shepherds (visualize that... aaah) then you probably want to keep your cards to yourself.

Nuclear weapons is a different story... Israel is a unique case, but all the other nations that have nuclear stockpiles mainly display their arsenal as the ultimate trump card for military defense. Nobody f***s with someone - at least not in a direct military conflict - if that someone is known to have a nuclear weapon. Israel does not acknowledge their stockpile publicly because if they did, they would have to enter the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, and for whatever reason they don't want to play by those rules. Reason is debatable.

The approximate size and composition of both the US' and Russia's nuclear stockpiles have been widely known for decades. While the exact number may not have been revealed before, knowledge of these two countries' arsenals is extensive.

It is prescient to consider also the "quality" of these warheads, not just the quantity. Modern thermonuclear warheads' payloads are much larger than the popular "references" - Little Boy and Fat Man:
