Man Im having a real hard time sharing my broadband connection so I can surf with my laptop in my bedroom.

I have a cable modem connected with a cat-5 patch cable to my Desktop and I have an extra wireless USB network card that I want to plug into my Desktop so that it will broadcast a signal to my laptop for wireless surfing.

Im trying to set up an "Ad-Hoc" network but I cant find any decent instructions on how to do it. Anyone have any experience with them?

Thanks in advance.

I tried to set one up, but failed, the signal degraded too quickly.

You should set it up just like a cat 5 pc-pc lan, but the wifi card is your network adapter instead of the ethernet card.

Try HomeNetHelp, and make sure you have netbeui installed from the xp cd.
