Blizzard On Saturn Is So Massive It's Visible From Earth

www.huffingtonpost.com

Thanks to NASA's Cassini spacecraft, which is currently orbiting Saturn, scientists have a front row seat to the massive blizzard raging on the planet. The storm is so large that it's visible from Earth, much to the delight of amateur stargazers.

PASADENA, Calif. – As a powerful electrical storm rages on Saturn with lightning bolts 10,000 times more powerful than those found on Earth, the Cassini spacecraft continues its five-month watch over the dramatic events.

Holy mother of all Lightening Bolts BatMan!

I would just LOVE to get an HD 1080p stream on one of those bad boys!!

This may be as close as we get: www.jpl.nasa.gov...

Interestingly though if you listen to a video which was released a few weeks ago, towards the end @ 2:09 mark a Cassini team member states "very much like on earth...same strength...(lightening storms) have the same strength". This seems to be quite a misstatement or contradiction to the 10,000x more powerful cited in the article.
Upon further analysis it looks like the previous article cited is several years old so perhaps we have more accurate data points now (?)

Guess with what might prove to be a devastating Hurricane season coming up on Earth the weather on other planets is the least of our worries.
