emotions invoke anger

well thats wrong, love doesent invoke anger in me, and love is an emotion.

I probably worded that wrong I think you got my point though, I hope.

Anger is an emotion but it sounded good at the time of me writing it. But if you have a passion and someone knows this they can push your buttons physically, emotionally, psychologically to get you to snap. Darn snowball effects.

Well the baby goes to heaven (that would be obvious)

How is that obvious, the baby never gave it self to GOD, never agreed to anything your god offered in regards to heaven or hell? This baby in my example is unborn, and has never experienced anything but a womb, what if that baby wanted to be Muslim, or Satanic, or just like me had no interest in Religion, do you think your God just sweeps thru all unborn terminations and miscarriages and claims him for his own.

The point was to highlight Religion is so concrete on all these un provable facts, but in real life scenarios religion doesn’t work, it doesn’t fit. Massive grey area which people take as real.

It hasn't been exposed to the sin of man so I guess you could consider it pure and has not reached the age of reason yet (saying it was born)

Where you're wrong, is people are always going to have an interest in philosophy and even spirituality. There's no way around that.

What i think you're talking about is the business certain groups have created around that. Which i agree is wrong, and it should be outlawed.

innocence = salvation. A little quote from a site.

But the Bible also teaches that Jesus died for the sins of the whole world (1 John 2:2)! And it implies that whoever seeks after God earnestly will find him (Deuteronomy 4:29; Psalm 86:5; Proverbs 8:17; Jeremiah 29:13; Matthew 7:7-8). God is fair as well as just. We are confident, for example, that the Old Testament patriarchs who lived by faith before Jesus' earthly ministry, are in heaven. So certainly some people have gotten to heaven without knowing Jesus in the personal way that the New Testament speaks of. Ultimately only God can judge as only He knows the individual's heart. We hold out hope that for those who have not heard but have not rejected God, those have been misinformed, or those who are unable to understand (children, mentally ill, etc) may be pardoned by a just God. Certainly, the Bible does not teach "universalism." Universalism is the idea that everyone gets to heaven. The Bible clearly teaches that the only certain way to heaven is through Jesus (John 14:6; Acts 4:12). We are confident that God will not hold anyone accountable for any knowledge he did not receive. At the same time, the Bible emphatically states that Christ is the only sure way to salvation. Anyone who has heard of the saving grace of Jesus, and rejects it, would be thumbing his nose at God (John 3:36).

I find threads like this sad.

We are people with many different views, ideas and beliefs. Whether it be God or aliens or evolution. Belief in a said system IMO does not enslave us but merely proves our diverse nature and Humanly curoius mindsets.

As a Christian/ Child of the Lord, my faith free's me and has opened me up to amazing things. My belief is in no way limits me but rather allows me to live my life to the fullest.

It is strange to me how the belief in God is termed inslavement where by evolution and the rest is a 'belief itself'

Please note this is my opinion and I in no way disrespect other outlooks.

Well the baby goes to heaven (that would be obvious) the rapist goes to heaven (because he confessed his sins) and unfortunately the woman goes to hell(which is a real shame) is that it ? Has your point been proven that YHWH and Jesus are bad and we shouldn't follow them ? You probably won't answer these questions, but here they are:

thanks for your reply I think your religion is disgusting and completly backwards and seems to reward bad behaviour re: the rapist, If that was my wife and your religion was true id kill myself to join her and try and find a way to kill your god, but its not so I dont need to worry.

Secondly I believe sex brings you closer to my god very similar to pagan beliefs god is nature, sex is a human expression which we express REAL love. Religion makes sex out to be dirty for one reason or another i dont know why but it is backwards. We should be promoting safe sex and not worring about pleasing a ghost.

That was a excellent post.....but your gonna have to do alot better than that to invoke my anger.......if you've really got a wife then may YHWH bless your soul and hers.......but back on subject if the baby is unaware of sin and other FALSE religions then it WILL go to heaven. But your living in denial if you think christianity is dirty and disgusting, how could this be disgusting ?
Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theres is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

"Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: " (Matthew 5:38).

"But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. " (Matthew 5:39).

You clearly don't understand the destructive nature of sex, thats why your views do not agree with mine. let me enlighten you: this whole matrix has been built around sin, and the rejection of jesus. Just have a look at the world for a moment and tell me what do you see ? A rejection of jesus thats what i see. We've imbraced evil as a part of our lives and now many people are suffering because of it. When i look at tv all i see is sex. I could say names but then i'll probably end up listing every artist. And porn has made this world evil, corrupt and untrue. How you cannot see this is beyond me. And thanks for answering those questions i knew you would.

How can we be sure Jesus said what we think He did? The Bible, along with other sources, has been translated countless times, surely?

You mean the same giants that someone else has pointed out exist in the bible both pre-flood and post-flood?

Yes, there is archeological proof of it too. I've only seen one femur but that's all the information I've ben able to find.

I would not normally ask but since you said there is

When Noah stepped off the Ark he was able to reproduce. The command to not inbreed came with Moses, not pre-flood.

They needed a command to stop the defects?

Also it just wasn't Noah and his wife. He had his 3 sons and their wives to repopulate the planet.

I know. That makes all of Noah's grandchildren first cousins and the only people left to restart the population. You do know what inbreeding is, don't you?

While meditating last night this came through.

ALL THE RELIGIONS THAT ARE BARE-Knuckled and waiting for the end of the world according to their bible are... CONSPIRACY THEORISTS!!!!!!

Thats right, end times prophecy are all conspiracies and those who believe them are nut jobs... like us who think 9/11 was an inside job and JFK was killed by the CIA and Zionists are planning to kill us all.

The original gospel of John. Or what we think is the original is written in greek and is about the size of a credit card. This book writings are pretty much the same thing within a standard bible nowadays. That being said this book was in greek. Yes, John was considered uneducated, but! He was far young enough to learn and be taught more knowledge such as writing. Plus you have to consider the Pentecost. (The idea that the Holy Spirit filled the disicples with all the language of the world and also could understand other foreign people).

Your very right on, we cannot be sure of anything written by people looking to control our minds and spirits. I cannot believe in any religion that tells me to kill for their god and to damn people for being human.

I cannot believe anything the bible tells me when people like Rupert Murdock (owner of fox news) can buy the NIVKJB and change it at will.

I cannot believe in a religion that causes fear and death and I cannot believe in a false god determined to destroy "his" creation and cause the souls to suffer for eternity? I mean what a fragile ego the god of Israel and Islam has, he must be middle-aged, balding, with an extremely small penis to act the way he does in the bible.

On the other hand, there are truths we find in our heart, truths we know in nature and in all religions and teachings. Follow what is true to your heart, follow what you know to be sacred. DO NO HARM, GIVE BEFORE TAKE, DIE BEFORE KILL, the golden rule is all that is needed. Let people be free to love.

If the state is a logically inferred device, it makes measured responses to human (physical) needs. As long as it does so in a rational manner and does not invent waste (war, pyramids) while providing for its people, how would that be a religion?
Confusing a tool with a weapon is a human preoccupation.
Religion is normally an offense against our nature if we seek to be free. Dylan says everybody serves somebody. If this is true than as long as we choose our servitude we still are free. If you can change that condition.
In a democratic state, we should be able to change our governments through election. In a religion this is rarely done. (Protestants can fire ministers, though this is infrequent.) By altering those in positions of servitude to us but who are to act as agents for us, we can maintain a relatively high level of freedom.
Policies can be modified to reflect our concerns.
What has happened in the modern state is the coming of more sure knowledge of how to manipulate the mob. Fear has always been highly effective (hell, murder). Reward the motivator (heaven, chicken in every pot) of last choice. Rewards have to be shown to be effective. It costs a lot to effort and lucre to exhibit rewards.
It takes a torch or a garrot to show the downside of opposition.
Climbing out of the sinkhole of religious lunacy necessitates a willingness to suffer for eternity if you are wrong. Most are not that brave or crazy. What they fail to recognize is that if god exists why would he invent orders that are less sane than those he can invent himself.
Why would god appoint people who babble/talk-in-tongues or quote crazy crap with such great sincerity?
Watch me pull this rabbit out of my hat!
God would appoint these ravers if he was nuts.
So is your god nuts?
Why worship him and obey the edicts of these warped minions if so?
Go find a sane god if you need one. This one is a genocidal nightmare who eats children and spits their bones at you.
He could be real but you sure as hell don't owe him anything.
A nation that protects you, provides an education, food supplies and promotes your growth, that's something that can be believed in as a tool. When they speak of patriotism it should be based on that. When they force us to pay with blood and money to fight foes of our own making-find a new agency to represent you. No different than a reaction to a foul faith.

The only religion that's humble enough to admit it doesn't know anything is Buddhism. It teaches followers to constantly question things.

"Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.” - Buddha

“Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense.”

“Embrace nothing: If you meet the Buddha, kill the Buddha. If you meet your father, kill your father. Only live your life as it is, Not bound to anything.”

The last one is a reference to the fallability and bias of men...and how it limits enlightenment (progress).

I wish other religions would look at their belief more as a philosophy explained by stories...rather than taking things literally. The whole idea of a guy saving 2 of every kind by building an arch is ridiculous, and no sane person can claim it's possible to build a boat holding 2 of every kind (including food/drink), not even with today's standard of technology.

So instead of coming up with ridiculous explanations, or stating the arch has been found (at which point it should be clear it's too small), why not look at the moral of the story instead of taking it literally?

I tell you why! People are scared that if they stop taking some things literally, the whole house of cards will collapse because it destroys the boarder between a true story and simple story telling. If you admit the arch thing isn't true, you could potentially argue that the rest (such as the existence of God) isn't true either. And obviously they're against that...even if it limits their progress in the real world.

Instead of thinking "mhhhhh, that microchip could have good uses in certain circumstances", they have a knee jerk reaction and go all "omg, mark of the devil!!!". Some people don't want something (microchips), and they use religion to outlaw it...sound familiar? How 'bout eating pork in Islam, or no drinking on Sundays (probably introduced because no one showed up to church because of drinking), wizards are evil (wizards = scientists), and so on.

Religion is a way to control the masses, and the second religious beliefs are set in stone and not flexible, they limit peoples' progress and development. Why? Because our world is constantly changing, and if religion isn't, guess who's gonna triumph in the world...those who adapt and are open to rational, logical thinking...or those who INSIST in impossible literal interpretations of scriptures written over 2000 years ago?

I'm actually quite happy that since Dawkins there's moe and more discussions about all this. The walls are crumbling, and people start to question things...which we see as a fall in memebership growth of the Catholic church (in fact, as of last year it's negative growth I think).

Whenever a political figure uses religion to justify his agenda, be very very weary about his true motives!!

No wonder Buddhism is the religion that gets along best with's probably the only one clever enough to adapt instead of being all stiff with rules that are set in stone.

Why fundamentalist Christians are dangerous:

Keep in mind that guy in the video is a Christain himself, his dad even founded the anti-abortion movement...yet even he calls those literal interpretations "beyond crazy".

"When we organize our village (the US), we shouldn't tailor it to please the village idiot (Evangelists)."

Love that quote...sooooo true

these things happened I know what I've seen and heard but I assure you it is not because of some super spiritual quality or good thing I've done if anything quite the opposite -you AINT got nothin on my earth this human that I definately excelled in that line of thinking-stay away huh?

At that time the son born in the ordinary way persecuted the son born by the power of the Spirit. It is the same now-Gal4.29

who say, 'Keep away; don't come near me, for I am too sacred for you!' Such people are smoke in my nostrils, a fire that keeps burning all day.-Is65.5

and they plotted to arrest Jesus in some sly way and kill him-Matt26.4

at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb.
There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow.-Matt28

yep thats how I would describe what I saw-bright as lightning white as snow I was around 13yo and was startled and gripped with fear like-

Then an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing at the right side of the altar of incense. When Zechariah saw him, he was startled and was gripped with fear.-Luke1.11

Worship him who made the heavens, the earth, the sea and the springs of water."-Rev14.7

It's as if all those people who still take things literally (and not just as a philosophy) never made it past the Middle Ages. I mean, there's Evangelists who seriously believe Harry Potter is an enemy of God because he's a wizard. In the 21st CENTURY!!! And those people are allowed to vote!!

Fortunately those people live in the red states ! Mostly !

what those people Worship

The Burning bush that created/written donts for Mankind and has a half God Child that was into reenactment (Pretending) into Symbolic Cannibalism Bread/Flesh Wine/Blood as like nomadic Indigenous people think that if that eat/drink a Fresh Kill .. what they hunt they will be more powerful.. than what they consume and set himself up to be killed . and died on a cross for blasphemy against Jewish Laws then resurrected like a Zombie .. and became like a God God in the Flesh..

did i get that right ?

personally I look towards the Sumerian Babylonian Egyptian myths first then stretch down to the others around the world

if by picky you mean at least in my case like a worst sinner then that would fit

However, to the man who does not work but trusts God who justifies the wicked, his faith is credited as righteousness.-Rom4.5

Yet, before the twins were born or had done anything good or bad—in order that God's purpose in election might stand-Rom9.11

I tell you the truth, all the sins and blasphemies of men will be forgiven them

Once I was alive apart from law; but when the commandment came, sin sprang to life and I died.

The law is not based on faith; on the contrary, "The man who does these things will live by them."-Gal3.12

But now, by dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code.
