So cold you cannot speak.
So much of a message,
you cannot speak.

Cold and miserable,
and some girl,
broke up with you.

Lord you're a soldier.
Lord you're a soldier.

Is there anywhere in history?
Where men were
A band of brothers?

www.youtube.com...
It touched me very much,
the amount of youth and bravery,
to win one battle
for freedom.

I suppose it does sound silly and cliched,
The fact that Americans
have given their lives,
For what was considered,
Freedom.

Was it freedom?
Was it a case of people giving their lives for freedom?
Or was it a one conspiracy vesus another?
I'd like to think it was all for "freedom".
But then why did the OSS or later the CIA take so many Nazis to the US?

Joseph Conrad's character Marlow could only say: "The horror, the horror".
I'd like to ask soldiers now, what can one describe: freedom or horror?
I suppose allied soldiers WW 2 were the ultimate soldiers, because their cause was so clear-cut. Despite their horrors their cause was always supported. I wonder if this made them luckier than what was to follow?

Yes, thank you mods, it is a better category, and I would very much appreciate it if any former soldiers would comment, or leave a bit of a narrative.
I'm still surprised sometimes, how much silence surrounds war.
Even a "just" war.
