Was there a UN resolution giving the United States Clearance to go into Afghanistan? If so, which nations supported it and which ones opposed it.

Also, how come their hasn't been much talk about all the oil that the United States was supposed to be getting after going into Afghanistan?

I think the big difference there might have been the status of U/N. membership or non-membership of Afghanistan at the time... Maybe one of our research hounds will look into this more deeply?

No, Afghanistan (like Panama or Yugoslavia before, for that matter) was not "cleared". With its predictable spinelessness, the UN got on the bandwagon later.

It's just another example of the cold contradictions and lies that are this war, the war on terror and the crusade against the Iraqi leader. If they really were faithfully honest about their goals like they were in Afghanistan then they would have been in Iraq for maybe 20 years now. The truth is that, Saddam was a pawn of our's and he either went berserk or we stabbed him in the back, like we do with all pawns when we sent them up to die. He is a martyr already, so why make him one offically? Why make him right? Prove him wrong, stop the aggression, start getting real and punish those who deserve it, like Saddam HIMSELF, not the IRAQI'S AS A WHOLE!!!!!!!!! You See?
