Rush Limbaugh blames 'environmentalist wackos' for massive oil spill

rawstory.com

At bottom: Former Cheney firm Halliburton made repairs to sunken rig, is now 'assisting with the investigation'; Bill Maher Tweet suggests all "drill, baby, drill assholes" should help clean mess

While there's not yet any indication as to what caused the disasterous explosion that sunk a British Petrolium drilling platform in the Gulf of Mexico, right-wing radio personality Rush Limbaugh has come up with a rather coy suggestion: "environmentalist wackos" did it.

So here is Mr. Limbaugh, the conservative leader of the GOP, placing the blame of the oil spill on someone else.

Doesn't the conservativeRepublican movement always harp on "taking personal responsibility"

I do listen to Mr. Limbaugh and actually think some of his ideas are viable but this....

I'm beginning to think that all the "hillbilly Heroin" Rush did has affected his cognitive ability. And he just glossed over the fact that this particular well had serious problems in the past.

www.whistleblower.org...

I think Mr. Limbaugh has slipped into some right wing fantasy land completely devoid of logic and responsibility. He just wants to spin any story to fit into his narrow view of reality; to completely ignore the environmental and economic disaster looming to make spurious accusations an hopefully make a few political points with his devotees that have given up critical thinking long ago!!

Rush has some good perspectives at times. But it is becoming more obvious than ever he is a mouthpiece for the elites.

I admit to liking Rush...sorry, I just do (as does the OP).

And in enjoying Rush, you often have to allow him to speak "out of line" on various subjects.

He's one part republican, one part comedian, one part sensationalist, one part radical.

He has a long history of saying messed up things in-between his more relevant stuff.

I forgive him for this.

Thanks for sharing the Rush with us.

What an article, it was only a matter of time!

The only thing scarier than the oil spill, is that people actually take this buffoon seriously!

Ha!

More and more apparent?

He has been the mouth piece for the elite longer then most ATS-ers have been alive on earth.

If you are just noticing this now...I wonder what "Rush" you were listening to before.

This seems equivalent in IQ points to the Iranian cleric that said earthquakes were caused by too much cleavage.

Perhaps Rush should have him on as a guest speaker and they can explore these ideas together.

What happened to "Drill Baby Drill," I thought people liked that. (end sarcasm)

Anyways this is just more removal of power by blaming someone else.

Way to remove your own power Mr. Limbaugh.

Blaming someone else for, everyones problem, is childish and is a form of not wanting to be response-able (two words, the ability to respond.).

Well I've been thinking about the spill for a while. The only thing I can really think of is a giant vacuum to suck the oil out.

Though who knows how long that could take to build. It is hard to come up with ideas when it is not your job too.

Nice job Gov.
Keep that oil pumpin we gota have money, Screw the animals and nature and living things, money is more important....

Freaking government is going to ruin the Food chain. Thus killing loads of humans if they don't clean this mess up, and it is THEIR FAULT (being the U.S. corporate Gov.). Since they are the Oil mongers.

I support the world in my own way, and doing so has effected the world for the better.

Like others here, Rush makes some good points but sometimes goes bat**** crazy sometimes and says something stupid. This is one of those times. It might be the Vicodin withdrawals acting up again.

To say that, yes, wackos did it is rather premature and only conjecture. But if Rush means only that this is a viable explanation of who did it, then yes, he is correct. We DO NOT KNOW yet what happened. One of those Regressive/Communist wackos may very well have pulled this off to STOP the use of Americas' own oil. We have enough oil HERE in America to last us a hundred friggin years without buying a drop from a friggin terrorist. Why, I was just reading about a huge find in South Texas, the biggest in 40 years. NOT offshore. So even if these environmental terrorist/Regressives/REDS mangage to halt the offshore drilling, we have a LOT on land. So just STUFF it you Reds...(and no, not talking about the Pubic-cons, talking about the Reds~communists)

We have yet to see the aftershock of this massive spill and the repercussions will be massive. This could easily lead to a moratorium on all offshore drilling until all rigs can be proven safe in order to prevent another disaster. Something that many environmentalists would love. The corn fuel folks would love this too.

Imagine the impact of such a moratorium and we have yet to see what kind of impact that this will have on the shipping lanes and ports all along the Gulf coast including the busy Mississippi River traffic.

I'm sure Rush's comments were tongue and cheek. The cause of this event has yet to be determined and sabotage has not been ruled out.

Funny how the timing of this coincides with this administration's agenda on global warming and cap and tax. This admin. has been anti fossil fuels since day one. Just a thought...

Why listen to Rush when Alex Jones is just as obnoxious and a million times more truthful than him? If you are going to listen to a loud mouth sensationalist, at least listen to one that calls out the people really run the show and isn't aligned with a warmongering false game party.

Rush? I thought he was moving to South America? Look, I appreciate free speech and he is a sensationalist entertainer, but for me personally, any public figure that can make the thoughts " I hate this/that" run through our brain is destructive, disharmonious, disingenuous and detrimental to the psyche of our citizens. He is a racist hypocrite in my opinion and does more harm than good. BOORUSH!!!!!!

What Rush should really be having paranoid fantasys about is how this accident will likely effect the GOP rising star and Gov. of Lousianna...Bobby Jindal.

In a week he has gone from Drill baby Drill and we don't need any socialist government assistance...to..."HELP!!"

Jindal to refuse stimulus money
www.politico.com...

Gov. Bobby Jindal

YES.... more drilling. (Feb 2009)
Voted NO on removing oil & gas exploration subsidies. (Jan 2007)
Voted NO on keeping moratorium on drilling for oil offshore. (Jun 2006)
Voted YES on scheduling permitting for new oil refinieries. (Jun 2006)
Voted YES on authorizing construction of new oil refineries. (Oct 2005)

www.ontheissues.org...

Oil from a giant slick hit the US Gulf Coast on Thursday evening, prompting Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal to declare a state of emergency and call for the federal government’s help in averting an environmental disaster.

Edit to add: I just checked my pocket sized constitution and I can't find where the Federal government is given authority to intercede and help in instances like this.

Jindal is now officially a socialist and has over-stepped the bounds of the constitution...

I was thinking that the timing of this is a little odd myself. It's likely to kill the offshore drilling plan of Obama's. One of his few potentially good decisions.

My question is who does this benefit? Who profits from this. Environmental wackos? Check
Oil companies? Check
Islamo Fascist Oil Rich Nations? Check

My first suspicion was actually against the oil companies themselves. They want oil scarcity to keep prices up. However Environmental wackos are quite possible too. A number of groups like earth-first have caused property damage and threatened lives to further their agendas. They should be considered just as much of a terrorist organized than the phony militia witch hunt.

You know, not that there is any evidence that we know of that would suggest foul play here, it does seem to be a little sketchy.

Obama, a man that was very environmentally minded, broke another campaign promise and opens up drilling off of the US coast. Environmentalists were far from happy.

This thing happens just after the fact, causing concerns about oil spills and environmental damage to come up again.

Obama sends SWAT and homeland security down there to investigate.

And now, I forget who said this, but on Faux Noose there was a sound clip mentioning "Those responsible for this will face consequences."

I wonder if there is something they know that we don't?

Ponder this:

Americans are very upset with the curent Adminastration, and The Patriot movement is gaining steam. That is a problem.

Reaction: Allow an Event that will criple their efforts to rally and momentum by hitting their pocket books.

Solution: Allow this massive oil spill to cause extreeme enviromental damage. The enviromentalist will cry foul and this Adminastration will place a stop on all new drilling. This is happening right now.

Fuel cost will begin to mount but not because of the loss of that 1 rig. You see vessels will not be able to reach ports and deliver goods. The Gulf Intracoastal Waterway may be closed. Ships carrying Crude from overseas maynot make it to the refineries in MS and LA.

This will have a nationwide effect. I pray it doesn't but it is starting to look that way.

In the end it benefits the oil scheme. Less oil to import means cost of gas goes up.

So more money for them, woopty do no surprise.

The rich get richer meanwhile, it will eventually effect them if they don't act also.

There is also a Nuclear bomb somewhere in the ocean with potential for leaking.

So the world is on a tipping point of becoming a wasteland? No ocean means the food chain drastically changes, yes, no, Cannibalism?

Yeah i listen to Rush i also listen to Alex Jones, but i think they are both nuts. Just think of Rush and o'rilley as right wing equivalents to Alex Jones. They are not really a part of the "media" anymore they just give commentary on social events.
