Nigel Inkster, the former assistant head of the British spy service MI6, slammed the United States' handling of its fight on terror, including what he called the "frenzied, alarmist response" to the recently foiled Christmas Day bomber.

He accuses the U.S. of torture in this article. I think that should be the headline and that is why I brought this to ATS. It is almost common knowledge that we are, without a doubt, torturing people and it is almost starting to be accepted. The United States is not supposed to torture anybody. Our allies know we are doing it, our enimies know we are doing it, and we know they are doing it; is nobody going to put a stop to this? Will we move on to torturing citizens?
