Jon Voight's Letter to America

Obama hates everything this country stands for. He proves that simply by his unwillingness to prove that he is a legitimate president, by bowing to enemies and snubbing our friends, by insisting that Congress cram things through on the people in spite of what Americans want. There is nothing Obama has done that has improved this country.Obama portrays himself as a visionary, able to view the petty disputes that preoccupy the rest of the world from a higher plane, divorced from anything as banal as America's interest. In short Obama does have a moral compass. The problem is that it always points to him.

It is so foolish and ignorant to keep focusing on Obama like this.

Obama is a puppet.

None of this was his idea, he is simply a public relations rep for the .gov, and they picked him because most people worship him.

See when they elect someone to replace Obama, this is going to be you people's fault. The system will REMAIN THE SAME despite someone replacing Obama - and it is because you act like this is ALL OBAMA"s fault.

When in reality the same POLICY has continued through Bush Sr, Clinton, Bush Jr, and now Obama. Same policy diff people.

Keep acting like it's all 1 guy's doing.
It's absurd.

Republicans AND Democrats are guilty as hell here.

Obama is a scapegoat. I want to see EVERY NON-ELECTED PERSON IN GOVT FIRED. Get those life time bureaucrats the hell out!

Jon Voight is the one who hates everything America stands for. The real America, not the fake one fed to you by Fox News. Don't forget Jon Voight was 100% behind ole Georgie W Bush and the republicans. They damn near torn down every freedom we have.

Edit: and yes Obama and the Democrats are responsible for not repealing EVERYTHING the republicans did in the last 8 years but democrats do not equal republicans. Since Obama got in he has ended torture of suspevted people and he is about to go after Wall Street IF the republicans will let him. Has any republican voted for anything since Obama took over, yup a couple but that's it.

No thanks republicans, I'll stick with the way less of the 2 evils. Obama all the way!

More glurgy right wing tripe!
Gee thanks Voight!
Yeah, I really yearn for more Bush style wars, depressions and civil rights screwing! I miss old dogface Cheney, let's bring back Rummy while we are at it.
No, let's not!

Agreed. Obama is a puppet, so was W. In fact every president since JFK has been a puppet and nothing more.

Although, knowing that, I still feel better having Obama in the office than maniacs like George W/Cheney. Personality being one plus, not sounding retarded is another plus. If nothing else we may regain some respect around the world.

You need not yearn, President Obama has not changed any of those things.

do you actually think that we could get a thread out or even a news headline out about the true men running things behind the curtain? highly doubtful as it has not ever been done nor shall it. so i say keep focused on obama and get his sorry arse out as fast as we can. my personal opinion is people such as Jon have had enough, just like the majority of people that i know! lets not make this a right wing or left wing thing- nor even a republican or democratic thing. how about tired of being pounded with out lube thing

I miss the good old days when celebrities were simple left wing nutjobs whose opinions were simply fodder for Hannity and Oreally to mock. Do Voight nor Fox remember the goold old days when celebrities were told to stay out of politics, keep their mouths shut, and just dance for us? I spent a good 8 years learning that any celebrity that dare opine about politics was some mental defective in need of "quiet time." I miss that.

Jon Voight

April 27, 2007 interview with Bill O'Reilly on The O'Reilly Factor: "And they — what I hear, you know, talking about our president. When I hear people saying quite unthinkable things about our president, when I see our president defaced, which is defacing our country. He's the leader of our country. He's the leader of the free world. It — my heart is very heavy."

en.wikipedia.org...

York Times columnist Frank Rich said of Voight's speech, in which Voight called to "bring an end to this false prophet Obama," that: "This kind of rhetoric, with its pseudo-Scriptural call to action, is toxic."[21]

In May 2008, Voight paid a solidarity visit to Israel in honor of its 60th birthday. "I'm coming to salute, encourage and strengthen the people of Israel on this joyous 60th birthday," said Voight. ....Also in the article, Voight accused four-star General and former Supreme Allied Commander of NATO Wesley Clark of having "shame upon him, having been relieved of his command" [16] and said that Clark "has done their ['the Obama camp's'] bidding and become a lying fool in his need to demean a fellow soldier and a true hero.

Has a cute daughter and an acting career in the toilet. Perfectly naturally he is moving into the political spotlight now. We love actors when they become too old to get any other parts. Hey he can still act. Let's prop him up as a Republican politician pundit!
Brilliant.

I'm glad you pointed the double standard out. I saw so much outrage over anyone who criticized Bush, going so far as to say if you didn't like our president you didn't like our country and you should get out. Now that the shoes on the other foot they're the ones disrepecting the office. It's so 2nd grade it's funny. Sort of.

I know it is exciting stepping up to the big stage and all but you are going to be ok. Just relax. Take a deep breath. Now, would you like to give that post another try and see if you can make sense this time?

Just imagine the kind of powers of persuasions that celebs have. Instead of their constant two party rhetoric, what if they came out and said. Hey you people, want change? Go and vote independent and stop wasting your time on these fools that have been running the country into the ground for forever. Instead they are just idiots. Oh Well!

Are you saying celebrities are idiots because they have different political views like anyone else? They would not be idiots if only they supported the third party?
