According to it's specifications, the X-51 Waverider missile could hit anywhere on Earth within an hour. So much for peace and global dissarmament if this is the kind of Change one might expect from the Nobel Peace Prize winning president Obama in the future. I guess Russia in particular feels more in the mood to enter peace-minded dissarmament talks when these weapons get attached to US bombers around the world.

He'll pretty much be "King of the World" with this thing. Wouldn't like to see it in the hands of any president or world power really. What's the point of issuing dissarmament when they develop a thing that can reach any given target in the world in less than an hour with any given warhead. So one might actually assume that your assumption is atleast pretty much it, only it should say the US President, not Obama.

In the event that crisis struck the US inland, and the Pres. et al were moved to mt. Weather, FEMA initiated it's ten regions' exectutives command, resulting in full retreat and leaving the nation under Pentagon command and martial law is suddenly governing the population and we see a full fledged World War raging all over the globe. What could stop a mad collegium of military and gov executives using this weapon to further escalate tension and threat?

Wikipedia article - Machine Man

X-51 is another name for Machine Man from the Marvel comics universe.
Here's a little quotey from the Wiki;

This title featured Machine Man entering the mainstream Marvel Universe. Jack Kirby wrote and drew the first nine issues, which dealt with the title character's status as a fugitive from the military after the death of his creator, and his first interactions with mankind. The book was canceled at the end of 1978 with X-51 finally standing up to the military.

The character is from the comics of 2001: A Space Odyssey, long known as a fave of the "global elite".

Also, related, there is this:

A song by Powerman 5000 about the son of Machine Man and his attempts to connect with "natural" mankind, as well as some apparently meaningless phrases thrown in for giggles.

In the first vid the missile looked like it was more rounded than the pictures that have been released lately. It may be an earlier prototype. This early prototype may have been relying more on it's gyros than the later, more "squared" ones, since it turns 180 deg. when it release it's first stage scramjet engine, before it turns another 180 deg. to cruise towards it's target. Then again, the quality of the vid wasn't too amazing, so I may have misinterpreted the pictures.
