Armed man arrested at NC airport as Obama departs

ASHEVILLE, N.C.
An Ohio man has been charged after authorities spotted him with a
gun in a North Carolina airport parking lot as Air Force One was
departing Sunday afternoon.

Joseph McVey, 23, is charged going armed in terror of the public, a
misdemeanor, said Asheville Regional Airport Police Capt. Kevan Smith.
Airport police saw McVey get out of a car about 2 p.m. in the rental car
return lot and he had a gun, Smith said. He was taken into custody
immediately and was being held at the Buncombe County jail.

It said this guy had a gun and strobe lights on his car
but was not a cop. They said he had no known address
but yet they say he's from Ohio. Weird stuff.

Could this man have been attempting an assassination
of President Obama???

Authorities are not saying.

It's possible. He could of not like the President, and found out where he was or would be. Keep us posted.

By tomorrow this guy will be revealed to be a Birther, Racist, Teapartier right wing radical Rush radio "ditto head" anti-abortion christian, NRA member and anything else useful that can be applied to him for political gain.

but they found him in a rental car parking lot.
Rental cars do not have strobe lights.

I find it strange that in Cleveland they let security guards get out of cars with strobe lights carrying guns (yeah, and no holster or anything, just holding the gun in their hand), but they immediately arrested this guy and say he wasn't a cop.

I don't see why non-cops (a.k.a. security guards) where I live get to run around with guns and drag people into back rooms and torture them extra-judicially, but this guy actually gets arrested.

I mean, I agree with arresting him, but why don't they do that here in Cleveland? They could go to the Greyhound Station down here and arrest a bunch of non-cops with guns that are extremely dangerous and highly likely to kill just about anytime. They could actually walk into any mall or supermarket around here and arrest some non-cops with guns that pose a very serious threat to people.

Really, there's security companies around here (like Cleveland Metro, especially) that have non-cops running around with guns and strobe lights that are very likely to kill, if they haven't killed already. I'm just really disappointed that my life is in danger here in Cleveland, and they go to do something in someplace called Asheville, but not here in Cleveland.

yea, I find it suspicious also.

And the charge was going armed to the terror
of the public. I guess what made this
different was the proximity of the president.
He wasn't charged with a crime related
to the president at all.

Another scary thought just crossed my mind.

The Polish President Plane Accident.

Could these folks be creating terror
on the runways of airports after their
targets. I'm trying to pull up a map
of the Asheville NC Airport Runway
system to see where that parking lot
is located in conjunction with departing
aircraft.

Maybe he was planning on a tail shot
with a handgun to make it crash as it
was leaving the airport. Who knows?
But at this point, it can't be ruled out.

well here's some geographical research
this is the layout of the Ashville Reg Airport.
The Rental Car Parking lot is within 200 ft
of the Taxiway. That's closer than Lee
Harvey Oswald was to Kennedy.

He definitely wouldn't have made that shot. He had been spending time at Billy Graham's house so he probably thought he could please his master by assassinating the Anti-Christ. What I found weird was the bond. 100k. That is a lot of freaking money and cold blooded murderers have been set with less. Regardless, just some whack job who thought he had the means to kill someone and was probably just high on "Graham" to know any better. It would seem that McVey did have some HAM equipment in his car according to the Ashville Citizen-Times
