I believe that this is more of a problem than many people would care to admit. More and more is that when someone speaks out against anyone who would
be considered a minority, the first words that come out from that group is racist, even when it is the truth, or points out the more unsavory aspects
of such. Take a good look back over the past year at the change in terms used by those in the political office. If people spoke out against the
President of the United States policies, they were called racist and bigoted, not that people were willing to listen to why people were speaking out,
the first conclusion that many people jumped to was it is race based. The same goes for religion, and the current crimes comitted against the United
States of America, all in the name of Religion, and the word islam or muslim is spoken in hushed tones, rather than admitting the truth that it was
someone who was an extreme islamist.
People tend to forget that the Freedom of speech is a two way street, you can not call foul if you hear something you do not agree, yet want to state
or do actions that may offend people. Of all of the freedoms that is in the United States, that of speech is one that should be gaurded, and
protected, and understanding, that as long as it does not cause intentional violence, we have the right to say what we want, when we want, no matter
what it is, and the same is true of things that will offend us and those who would speak such.
