C&P from another site discussing the issue

A most relevant argument:

Immigration argument is moot... and here's why...I think a lot of people on here get selective amnesia as to exactly what made this country great in the 1st place when addressing the topic of immigration...Revolution.

That being said I am going to tackle this issue as I do with every one of my relatives. I am a 1st generation American of Mexican and European descent with full knowledge of the history of Mexico and it's relations with the United States. Everybody I hear speak about this problem misses the point completely. Mexicans are their own worst enemies just as many Americans sometimes are. What I am trying to say is that they love our freedoms and the opportunities that they have in this country, but they refuse to fight for them on their own land and yet they have the nerve to have unabashed pride in the country they ran away from. This makes no logical sense. All they are doing by running away is allowing for their corrupt leaders to stay in power and stifling the voices of anyone that would dissent and prevent a revolution that desperately needs to happen in that country. If they want the same freedoms that we have here then they need to fight for them there…plain & simple. Our forefathers fought and they bled. They risked life and limb, family and property to attain freedom and independence from the yolk of the crown…and they did. American freedoms and welfare have made them complacent and lazy and this needs to end. If they want our freedoms, they can fight and bleed on their own land to attain them. Viva La Revolucion.

"papers please" is wrong because it sets a precedent, it lets the police arrest anyone they want for not carrying their birth certificate on their body.

a lot of this could have been avoided
if the Governor had of contacted me about
being her adviser before signing this law.

I would have told her this ::::

Make a change to the law required for getting
a driver's license.

Have 1 extra category added to the AZ driver's license
that reads NAT which stands for Nationality. Then underneath
it it could read USA for US Citizen or MEX for Mexican, etc....
By having this on the drivers license it eliminates the need
for anyone to carry around an extra piece of paper as
it's already on your drivers license whether u r a citizen
or not. And a drivers license is required for driving so
most carry it with them everywhere they go.

Now make it mandatory when you go get your drivers
license to show nationality at THAT time instead of making
the Cops do the determination during an intense setting.
This would be the setting to show your birth certificate.

This would have been best in my opinion.
But the Governor didnt seek my council

i remember the naiz doing the same thing by making all the jews wear the star of david..

Honestly They need to fix this problem however giving more power to the poilce is worse i mean come on you know there going to abuse it.. You really trust cops?

You act like the exodus of Arizona illegals is going to solve something. All they're going to do is redistribute themselves throughout other American cities and start over. At least we could have kept them in one spot. Instead, they're going to spread out to other areas and take out more American jobs somewhere else.

Nothing is getting solved here, the problem will merely pop up in other additional areas. So, although Arizona took the law into their own hands (which is good), other states have not, so instead of piling into Arizona, they're just going to load up on Texas, California, and much of the southern areas. Interestingly enough, they're making their way through the midwest (we see quite a few here in Indiana) and even heading North, like Michigan etc.

So, ultimately, I don't see any progress here. Maybe if other states decided to do the same thing, I would think of this as more proactive.

I guess it has to start somewhere though.

way to go arizona

Roger THAT!

I don't have time to deal with those kind of people, who have nothing but to accuse me of being a racist, when clearly they are beaten by laws that were already written long ago, and are just now being REINFORCED by the new law in AZ. Remember, they already checked to make sure the law was fully compatible with federal laws, and many clauses were taken VERBATIM from the federal laws. The difference here being primarily that AZ intends to enforce them! What a concept! To enforce the law!

In a certain sense though, the illegals will make their own graves if this starts turning violent any more than it already has. And I suggest they think very carefully before they act next. Because if violence ensues, and there is some kind of retribution on their part for America simply ENFORCING IT'S OWN LAWS, it will only lead to faster state actions, unneeded harm to themselves and others, and ultimately, their own deportation back to Mexico.

If I was an illegal right now in Arizona, I know EXACTLY what I'd do. I'd play it smart, instead of real stupid and out rioting in the streets and getting myself hurt or killed. I could make some sensible suggestions for them, but they have plenty of organizations, including their own government, who are already doing this for them- so I'll pass.

After all, Nazi sympathizers would never.... umm, ok- I'll shutup now...

American flag burned in Mexico

Well, they're in their own country. Its not like they did it here. So, as much as I would love to be pissed off about this, I'm not.

Secondly, anti-Americanism is spreading throughout the globe. You can thank your politicians for that one. Because of them, it is now dangerous for you to travel throughout the world and enjoy other cultures and for them to enjoy you.

Besides, more than enough Americans have done the same thing. In the end, a flag is nothing more than a piece of cloth and only has the meaning that you ascribe to it.

Much love to all...

it's not being tough on illegal immigration that's the problem. it's going to get to a point where anyone who isn't white will need to carry proof of citizenship.

that is what people are upset over.

this is from another thread:

Ignorance is bliss. So you must be in nirvana...

Well, maybe they should have thought about that before breaking the fricken law!

Let's breakdown redneck stereotypical logic.

1. Tougher illegal immigration laws just passed.
2. Illegals somehow felt it was in their best interest to head to downtown, and then create enough of a ruckus to be charged with a petty offense, go through our dehumanizing booking process. And get deported...

See somehow, I think they have more intelligence than you do in assuming they were illegals.

I think it makes far more sense, that those protesting were legal citizens angered by the racism.

Legal citizens who have had their rights violated in the name of this nazi system.

I've seen you posting several threads recently attempting to turn episodes of LEGAL CITIZENS PROTESTING RACISM into rants encouraging bigotry and racism.

Full of ignorance like assuming someone here illegally, would choose a petty law to break to be busted and deported.

*rolls eyes*

Give it up already, you're annoying people with logical minds more than you are exciting angry ignorance.
