It is no surprise by now that folks here know I'm from NC.
So this is something that I pulled up on my state as far
as the 10 worst scenarios of how the stimulus package
isn't working on a state level. OK, here's the top 10.

that's right folks, NC is very concerned about how our monkeys
act when under a controlled substance !!!!

And you wonder why Gov Perdue isn't looking too well
in the polls ???

Where in any of these packages do we actually MAKE
anything??? Or SELL anything??? Or make any money???
Or get any revenue??? How is ANYTHING up there gonna
stimulate the economy ???? And 3 of those 10 listed have
to do with Dance. We have no money mah!!!

It seems Washington freebasing has trickled down to
the state levels.

If you have any info on your state's worst uses of the Fed
Stimulus Package, by all means post it for consumer

All I can say is, Unbelievable!

I lived in C Hill/Durm. 11yrs, like what has happened since 97? I was there before I-40 was open.
I have seen how much it has ballooned with all the transplants since. Dare I say the L word, seems like the money is going to great projects to save the planet and doing what feels good, especially the monkeys!

On the Plus side, You still have SAS!!!

I currently live in the mitten state, which is way below and beyond talk!!!, concerning our state Govt. Very Embarrassing.

That's money well spent on the monkey research if you ask me. I personally want to know what these animals do after hitting some "Rails". You never know when you could be trekking through the jungle and stumble onto some apes doing lines off of a tree stump or something.

Spending money to spend money. Great concept. I think I'll run my own finances like that.

I'm in the R/D area about once a month, Yeah! the waste is freakin nuts all over! I'd like to dig into the Companies around the "Research Triangle" I'm sure they get a hefty hand out from the TPTB.

You seem to have a thing against art and science...why is that?

Nevermind if any of those on your list created or saved two or three or more jobs...they're not blue collar enough for you, so you're against them.

Total apathy for the individuals who won't be searching for a new job this year. The one's that turn into a statistic for the recession.

One job loss is a tragedy, one million lost is a statistic.

One statistic I like to see is the actual jobs saved or created statistic.

For each year of jobs created, the government spent about $450,000 dollars.

Now, if one thinks about that, I could have created a MINIMUM of 9 jobs for that kind of money.

I would pull the federal government technique, I would give myself $350,000 and then hire 9 illegal aliens paying them $2/hr!

I would imagine it's close to impossible to determine an accurate measure of jobs created/saved...the townhall in the list. The city may just contract the job out to a local small business rather than use municipal workers to construct the building, so while the report reads 0 jobs saved/created there's also the contracted companies that this money hits.

I've witnessed real government waste on the scale of multi-millions...I don't see anything wrong with that list.

When I was a kid all you needed a boom box and big piece of cardboard to express your Breakin' style.

This is ridiculous and it is indeed a reflection of the massive transformation of the Southern States by transplants from "more civilized" North Eastern states. I was a transplant in NC/SC in the early nineties and watched the transformation/explosion of the greater Charlotte area first hand. There is no such thing as southern charm in Charlotte proper.

I also live here in NC, and I have actually noticed that they also spent a lot of cash on peanuts. Sort of makes me wonder why. 12 oz. containers of Peanuts, peanut butter and tons of other wasteful things. I left my opinion on the site that it was a waste of taxpayer money. By them purchasing that many peanuts they made an extra 10 jobs here in the state. Huh? That must be the people they hire to open the jars, and put them in little bowls?? I hate to freaken say it but 10 jobs? to do what count peanuts??

Here are the ones, that I had found before for NC, I had posted it at another forum:

Peanuts roasted regular 12/16 oz sizes $715,910.00 Spent.

12/18 oz creamy peanut butter $414,445 spent

Batteries $91,276.00 Spent

12/18 oz creamy peanut butter $1,300,676.00 spent

I do believe that is all wasted money. There was many more of these including snack crackers at $50,000

If this is making jobs, then I believe they are paying folks to spread PB on crackers.
