(CNN) -- As the country was sinking into its worst financial crisis in more than 70 years, Security and Exchange Commission employees and contractors cruised porn sites and viewed sexually explicit pictures using government computers, according to an agency report obtained by CNN.

"During the past five years, the SEC OIG (Office of Inspector General) substantiated that 33 SEC employees and or contractors violated Commission rules and policies, as well as the government-wide Standards of Ethical Conduct, by viewing pornographic, sexually explicit or sexually suggestive images using government computer resources and official time," said a summary of the investigation by the inspector general's office.

More than half of the workers made between $99,000 and $223,000. All the cases took place over the past five years.

www.cnn.com...

You hear about Government waste.. you hear about Government ineptness ..

You can surely hear about Government fraud and corruption ..

But have you ever heard of something so blatantly disturbing as our Financial overseers watching porn instead of doing their jobs? I know I know.. it's only 33 people, but I don't think it's the action so much as the .. er.. descriptive image of Government ineptness.. that it portraits. And the employees as you can see, were all mid to high level people.

EDIT: To add this HILARIOUS tidbit..

"In fact, this attorney downloaded so much pornography to his government computer that he exhausted the available space on the computer hard drive and downloaded pornography to CDs or DVDs that he accumulated in boxes in his office," the inspector general's report said.

I can only say WTF man .. WTF.. amazing. I'm actually impressed. That has to be a government record lol.

Well, I am sure the government interview and procedural steps to hire people could be a indicator of just what kind of freaks they want to have in the positions.

I think this proves the theorem I have floated before.

Anyone in any governmental authoritative position must be a type that can be manipulated and bribed. I think SKL has a thread on this.

See, now that some things are starting to slip about the INTENTIONAL fraud and destruction of investments by the very banks and financial firms in bed with government, what do we get?

Let me see, GS and other banks destroyed the economy and in comparison we have SEC people watching porn. I think the people that work at the SEC know they would be destroyed if they attempted to "actually" do their jobs.

Seems my theorem is being proven nowadays.

I think we need to let the two corrupt parties start eating themselves alive. Once all of this comes to a head, we the people just arrest both the government and banskter thieves and miscreants and SEIZE all of their assets.

Hmmmm, sounds like a plan to me. S&F

Also, here is a thread with the same topic-SEC staff watch porn as economy crashed
