April 22nd - NASA Releases Stunning Sun Photos/Video

NASA has released stunning new photographs of the sun, giving a greater scientific insight to the ball of fire that affects everything on Earth.

Images from the Solar Dynamics Observatory spacecraft reveal higher detail of sunspots and solar flares, as well as extreme close-ups of the massive celestial body.

"These initial images show a dynamic sun that I had never seen in more than 40 years of solar research," NASA Heliophysics director Richard Fisher said.

"This mission will have a huge impact on science."








Very cool new pictures from NASA's new SDO satellite, can't wait for more to be released these are quite majestic.

Looks like the multi-colored picture has a kind of hole or divet in the sun or something strange.

i dont think thats quite the same, thats talking about the launch of the satellite and has a link to a video feed from the site.

these are photo's released by NASA today, taken by that satellite.
