Perhaps when he was asked if he was Lucifer he meant under their belief system that any Illuminated individual is in fact a Luciferian.

If one percent of the population is crazy (underestimate, I believe), then if you have ten people in your organization, there's a good chance no crazy people are included. Even if they are still 1%, that was be 1,000 crazy people.

If a person is crazy but they belong to fifteen organziations, then that person's craziness could be attributed to any or all of those organizations. However, he is probably just a crazy person who is associated with those organizations, rather than a sane person who was "turned" crazy by one of those organization.

There are millions of Mason, so it would be unrealistic to think that every one of them have their head screwed on properly. There are only 100 Senators, yet look at how many of them are screwed up!
