ACCORN CEO Bertha Lewis admits the oraganization is Socialist

Here we have ACCORN trying to make a comeback with the help of the next generation youth. Speaking at the Winter Conference of "Young Social Democrats" at a New York High School, she goes on to admit to socialism and encourages it. She even takes the time out of her speech to vilify the Tea Parties in front of the impressionable youth and encourages them to bully & stand up against them.

The next video is from 2007 when then candidate Obama tried to distance himself from ACCORN. Are we to consider guilty by association here or deny such ties altogether.

Socialism - caring or operating in regards/respect of other human beings

Capitalism - ruthless, inhuman, barbarian lust for wealth with a complete callous disregard for other people & perhaps including prurient sadistic pleasure abusing, destroying & maiming other human beings.

righteous, ethical, fair LAW & ORDER is a SOCIALIST idea.

Twisted bent, rigged unfair law & order is a capitalist mode of operation we see most of the time in Washington DC & elsewhere.

Preaches fairness and social justice. But to who is it fair? Is it fair to the people who will be paying for such socialistic agendas and entitlement programs or the one who will end up receiving it. Freedom, liberties, & free speech are capped as the ones who are free might hurt someone else liberty. Political correctness has to be applied to appease all parties and constant equality has to be maintained as to not upset the masses. There will always be a ruler to make sure the policies are being followed.

You can only spread the wealth so long until the wealth is all gone. What will you do then? Lets take a look at N.Korea. Those people are so cute in their red outfits all lined up in sync during their military show-off days. Do you know that N.Korea is broke? They rely on China to fund them and they rely on their black market arms sales to keep the country going.

Capitalist
System which praises an individuals drive to achieve something greater. The pioneering ability rewarded by their individuality and risk taking. The capitalist system only rewards people who remain true to the system of free markets and free from manipulation by government & corruption. Freedom is rewarded.

So you would rather choose shackles, while I would rather choose freedom.
You currently enjoy the values where your dissent and freedom is greatly sought after for by the people who currently are forced to live in the system you try to flaunt.

I know what you mean, remember that they don't have much substance in rhetoric but just rhetoric. They have to appeal somehow to masses of sheeples, and what is the best way to appeal to particular group....dress ethnic. Obama is able to appeal to different crowds just changing his certain dialect.

Are you refererring the "Pimp and Hannah Giles" story? The unedited footage and more information came out about that recently.

The un-edited version was not quite as damning once context was shown, and it turned out ACORN did a pretty responsible thing, kept them talking, got as much info as possible, then called the cops.

I'm not saying ACORN are all sweetness and light, but that scandal was not quite the scandal we were led to believe.

Out of all the location where this sting was tried, did they all have a Jerry Brown who had detective cousin they could call and make the complaint.

What's the big beef with ACORN anyway? Why is everyone so eager to bash organizations that stand to help the lower income classes? Has the anti-leftist propaganda machine done its job so well that any inkling of something that goes against this notion of societal survival of the fittest is a communist monstrosity?

Let's look at some of the good things ACORN has done. Remember Katrina? Do you remember what a disaster that was? ACORN was the creator of the Katrina Survivor's Association, which organized fundraisers as well participated in reconstruction and post-Katrina city planning. It has helped over two thousand individuals get their lives back together after being ripped apart by the storm.

Ever heard of the idea of charter schools? They are an alternative to public school that have displayed a significant increase in test scores. ACORN has strongly advocated education reform based on the charter school model, in addition to cap on classroom sizes and an active parent role in the school education.

Oh, yeah, ACORN investigates companies involved in predatory lending. I don't know why we wouldn't want any NGOs out there fulfilling this role...

And honestly, I've seen plenty of conservatives on this site arguing exactly for what ACORN's Home Defender Program proposed... civil disobedience in the face of bank foreclosure.

I don't deny that the history of ACORN is tied to far-left politics: founder Wade Rathke was affiliated with the SDS in the 1960s... however, I would argue that SDS and assorted groups like the Black Panthers and the Weather Underground were not totalitarian leftists but anarcho-communists, yearning for voluntary autonomous collectivism. If you don't believe me, go look at their ideology for yourselves.

But honestly, why the hate? Why do we demonize every person or organization that extends a helping hand to the poor? As Dom Helder Camara famously stated:

When I give food to the poor, they call me a saint. When I ask why the poor have no food, they call me a communist.

I got this far and that was about it. This is so ironic when they were consulting James and Hannah on how to cheat on their taxes.

Just wth does she mean by a movement that will dwarf McCarthyism? Does she mean that anyone that doesn't conform to their socialist agenda will be black listed?
There is nothing wrong with being a socialist, IN A SOCIALIST COUNTRY, and America is not a socialist country. She and others can go yell it from the rooftops for all I care, but how about they do it in a socialist country.
