Here we go folks! Last week I predicted a propaganda blitz and it's begining!
Right wingers are griping already about Obamas attempt at financial reform.
Apparently it's Yankee Doodle Dandy patriotic to let Wall Street and banks do whatever they want!
Be prepared for a propaganda blitz that will make health care look tame.
Corporate thieves will frame this as being about freedom ( the so called free market), cry socialism and class warfare and refuse any attempt at reform. this is Obama's opening salvo on Wall Street reform. The President is serious about meaningful reform, Wall St will be angry, Congress will hem and haw being chicken as usual.
We need a STRONG public support for these things, if people could put aside their partisan hatred of Obama, we could actually accomplish something.
I fear for The Presidents safety, when he screws with the rich ruling class, they will be irate, and will do ANYTHING they think they can get away with.
DON"T BE A STOOGE JUST BECAUSE YOU HATE OBAMA!

It wont be as bad as health care...What I find amusing though is that the republicans were the ones that pushed the 50b fund to begin with, and are now complaining about it.

Sort of like ordering a apple pie, then complaining that there are apples in the pie when it arrives.

Meh, Reps are just being reps.

I dont know what will happen...Obama really doesn't care one way or the other if the 50b is in the bill, but, he might use this opportunity to slam the reps for this just for the sake of politics overall...show em up for being...well, insane I guess.

We shall see how it plays out.

Its not like Obama accepted campaign money from Goldman Sachs and then put their big wigs high up in the financial sector of government, right?Oh yes Obama will put the bankers in their place. By giving more power to the federal reserve. Because the FED has done so many great things for this country and the economy. Do some research before you say anything else about this so called 'reform'.
Are you really telling others not to be stooges?

the fake certificates, right wing blog posts with no sources, and The spinning of issues like it was a damn dreidal just doesn't phase me anymore

also arguing with the people who do believe these things is totally useless. you can present the most hardcore contradicting evidence and they will act like they don't even know what you're talking about.

So the answer is do nothing?
Just let them get bigger and bigger? Give them more money and more power? More lobbiests?
Let them BECOME the government? Fault Obama all you want, something must be done or this will keep happening.

IMHO its too late to do anything. Goldman Sachs is already part of the government. Obama and GS are hand in hand, all presidents and bankers/corporations have been since at least JFK, and before him every president back to Andrew Jackson, with the possible exception of Lincoln.

The real truth of the matter is, as you and I know, that a financial element in the large centers has owned the government ever since the days of Andrew Jackson. ...

Ole Mitch McConnell has already been caught with his lies in the pie. He said yesterday that the financial reform bill is just to set up bailouts for wall street but like most of his ilk, he didn't even look at it. It has a provision that makes bailouts illegal. He lied to the public to further the republican "stop Obama from doing anything to make himself look good", agenda. Just like the lie they say about Obama raising taxes when he has instituted over 25 tax cuts since taking office. Or how about the "better buy guns Obama is outlawing them", lie. Obama signed the bill allowing guns into federal land. They are all liars.

Sometimes I actually question my oewn thinking about everything, and wonder if I'm just paranoid, but this to me smells a bit.

Obama is low in the polls through what believe see as not giving a damn about the people of America, instead looking after his wealth elite friends.

This could be a way for him to spew out good publicity showing the public that he is right behind them and is going to start to reign in the banks, but I bet all the money that Obama gets out of the banks etc will have already been arranged when they had the bail out money anyway.

Its all made to show that Obama is doing his job, but in reality its all hunky dory behind the scenes, as nothing will happen that hasnt already been arranged.

yah know, before obama took office i had faith in him, however now i find everything he says suspect. i mean it seems like he has lied about almost every important issue that he has made promises about (getmo, war on terror, no exeutive orders, saying he would change the way things are done in washington yet he filled his cabinet with the same wall street junkies that put us where we are, the list goes on and on and on).

He says he wants financial reform but do you really think the wall street big wigs in his cabinet are going to allow REAL financial reform to happen. REAL financial reform would be the shutting down of the federal reserve, using gold and silver as backing for our money (in the 80s congress passed a bill that allows money to be printed using ANYTHING as backing), not allowing wallstreet-wannabe-politicians to ascend to the highest positions of power in the united states of america.

STOP THE LIES, change we can believe in is doing away with all these unconstitutional federal laws, doing away with the fed, and most importantly we need to become a self sustaining, self sufficient country producing as much of our own products for our people insted of selling America's soul, our land, and our people 2 forgin intrests
