AN OPEN LETTER OF RECONCILIATION & RESPONSIBILITY TO THE IRAQI PEOPLE

org2.democracyinaction.org

We acknowledge our part in the deaths and injuries of your loved ones as we tell Americans what we were trained to do and what we carried out in the name of "god and country". The soldier in the video said that your husband shouldn't have brought your children to battle, but we are acknowledging our responsibility for bringing the battle to your neighborhood, and to your family. We did unto you what we would not want done to us.

This is a powerful indictment of our military and government! They are sponsoring an online petition and have close to 1600 signatures so far. It is inspiring for me to see this type of bravery from 2 of our soldiers!

"Please accept our apology, our sorrow, our care, and our dedication to change from the inside out. We are doing what we can to speak out against the wars and military policies responsible for what happened to you and your loved ones. Our hearts are open to hearing how we can take any steps to support you through the pain that we have caused.

Solemnly and Sincerely,
Josh Stieber, former specialist, U.S. Army
Ethan McCord, former specialist, U.S. Army "

I have no repect for military or anyone that fights and kills other human beings all in the name of peace. Its a complete and utter farce to fight in a war so that the world can have peace, its old and has been used countless of times. That said, it takes alot of gumption to speak out loud against the very people who have instilled the brainwashing since enrolment. May it continue.

1700 Signatures and counting. A lot of Anonymous signatures... wonder if Rumsfeild or Cheney signed in, just to shoe Solidarity...

I signed. I'm responsible too. I didn't physically kill anyone, but my Tax Dollars made sure that I did.

TAXATION, WITHOUT REPRESENTATION

Now, my tax dollars are going to soon insure that a bullet from the American government has my name on it.

Pretty cool huh? I paid for my own imprisonment, and inevitable assassination.

There will always be war, no matter what. Your issue lies with the goons who run the wars not with the soldiers who are just doing their job.

Apologies are for those that hold guilt. The signers did nothing wrong, the people in charge should be apologizing, not these soldiers.

The CIA was responsible for financing and training Saddam Hussein and perpetrating a coup in 1963 to install the Ba'ath Party into power.

Saddam another bogeyman created by our very own government!

Taking Out the CIA's Trash

Prior to the UPI story, Roger Morris, a former National Security Council staffer in the 1970s, confirmed that the Ba'ath Party now so reviled by average Americans was essentially installed by the CIA in 1963 in response to the Iraqi leader General Abd al-Karim Qasim, a bloody dictator who backed out of the anti-Soviet Baghdad Pact and talked about nationalizing Iraq's oil industry. "We came to power on a CIA train," admitted Ali Saleh Sa'adi, Ba'ath Party secretary general at the time. As James Critchfield, then head of the CIA in the Middle East, told Andrew and Patrick Cockburn ("Out of the Ashes, The Resurrection of Saddam Hussein," 2000), the CIA regarded the Ba'athist coup against Qasim "a great victory" and also considered it their favorite coup.

"The Ba'athist coup, resulted in the return to Iraq of young fellow-Ba'athist Saddam Hussein, who had fled to Egypt after his earlier abortive attempt to assassinate Qasim," writes Alfred Mendes ("Blood for Oil," Spectrezine). "Saddam was immediately assigned to head the Al-Jihaz al-Khas, the clandestine Ba'athist Intelligence organization. As such, he was soon involved in the killing of some 5,000 communists. Saddam's rise to power had, ironically, begun on the back of a CIA-engineered coup!"

A Soldier With A Brain A.K.A. A REAL Soldier!

Saying what I said is not insulting the military but I think that if you find that insulting then in my personal belief it's you that is more insulting than what you perceive me to be.

I mean in the empire of lies truth is treason as I believe RP says it.
And that's why you say what you do.

They say all deserters and military dissidents are cowards, but it takes great courage to defend you soil and economy once you know the terroists are in the inside!

I would have agreed with you, but dont you get it now it has to be on MSM to be true ie., Fox News, CNN, Jewish Telegraph Agency etc. Anti-War is a biased source and no biased sources are allowed on ATS thus there is no proof it is indeed the soldiers who made the letter. Who says it's a biased source? Well because its not in MSM it is biased.

I dare any one of the signers to go there and personally hand it to Al Qaeda in Iraq. I'm sure that they'll accept your apology in the form of a knife across the neck.

haha i'm pretty sure ATS BAN allows such sources especially

Honestly I do often.. of course, doubt such sources that's why even my sources of my threads tend to be more... "mainstream".

However mainstream is extremely biased, after all the only motivation for these Reputable alternative news sites is uncovering truth, while mainstream news on the other hand is motivated by very very large sums of cash!!!!

With that said... Alex Jones is an Idiot and gives a bad name to consipracy theorist.

Grow up? Think for myself? How nice of you to post a line when you know nothing about me. People like you aren't worth a damn though, war makes money and money makes the world go round. Saying to give peace a chance isn't going to help because peace isn't profitable.

There has always been war in the world, that's how it works. It's narrowminded to think that someday there won't be war.

But this is coming from a hippy with a peace symbol as their display picture. I would continue but I'm not out to flame people.

Thank you for the appology. I am sorry that the brave reuters photographer holding the camera hung on his shoulder, looked almost like a gun on a sling was also around three insurgents holding ak47's. I am also sorry seeing a guy with an RPG turning around in the same shot. I am sorry that he could have been confused with the guy holding the tripod.

I want to thank the people of wikileaks for pointing out all that stuff. Highlighting and circling it. If we all watched it without that stuff, we likely would have confused them for enemy combatants.
