was it answered by you? I can't find it
it's a fair question I think
Fair enough but you seem to be misunderstanding some fundamental principles of feminism. Not necessarily your fault since many, including some women
as well, sometimes misunderstand the core issue that lies at the heart of feminism. Especially when programmed with the stereotypical nature of the
bra-burning, how dare you acknowledge my attractiveness, I have to act like a man to get respect caricature that the feminist movement is made out to
be.
I thought this was interesting (and funny) which is why I asked the original question - last page
you seem to think you have a pretty good handle on what feminism should or shouldn't be
you and I are absolutely entitled to express our femininity and sexuality any way we want to - I couldn't agree more
I'm not a feminazi - and I missed out on the whole bra burning thing by a few years - though I think I might have enjoyed that
I like watching flames (that might be about something else...)
my point is - and I do have one - it should have been your choice. That's all
I don't see where you actually said it was
there's a real reason why this rubbed some people the wrong way - it's not just meaningless whining
it has nothing to do with you - or Asala - or anyone involved with producing the program
there's nothing wrong with being attractive - it would be ridiculous to say there is. There's also nothing wrong with packaging it and using it as a
tool to sell a product
this is America for heaven's sake
I read some of the complaints made by some of the men as a feeling of betrayal - perhaps they feel somewhat insulted. They take this subject matter
seriously - and maybe see that they're being treated like rubes by a site they respect.
Very few women complained. I understand the point of view of those that did. I believe you do as well - even if you don't really agree with it
it doesn't matter - the only reason this interests me at all is - you've made some strong statements about what is and isn't feminism
with all the issues surrounding the words chicks, hottie, etc., I wonder - would you have chosen those same words if it were up to you?
I realize you can't really answer that
but I had to ask
