Hey, I just made the non-specific remark - And usually it's easy to discern between those who wish to appreciate - and those who wish to be appreciated.

We all have our e-penis.

Interesting that you would associate appreciation and penis.

Sounds like there's a story behind this ...

Care to share?

ETA: When I say "interesting" I mean confusing.

Actually it's you who has made the association.

I'm just saying people present themselves in certain ways.

Perhaps, but what I am saying is that one might think they can glean another person's motives from their post but they can also be wrong. What I said to you in the previous page in jest could easily be thrown at you or anyone else and the whole community will become, as others have, a perpetual accusation when we disagree.

Point being is that all that we have in front of us are posts, and it seems to me that that is all that is up for valid discussion. Lest we degrade to attacking each other based on perceived and often erroneous assumptions of motive.

Agreed.

This extends to people making complaints also.

Hence why I replied in the analogous manner in which I did.

That much is obvious. In your case, it's difficult to see your username or whether you are actually on ATS now. Black text on black background makes it very secretive.

All I have to say on the matter of complainers is that it's always a good thing to point out what might be wrong and things have worked out quite well in the end. I wonder how much easier it might have been if all those who thought a fix was required had, instead of publicly announcing their misgivings, gone with a Suggestion/Complaint instead?

Judging by some of the comments in the two threads pertaining to the Conspiracy Chicks, you would think some people still live in the Draconian Puritanical Stone Age. What exactly is wrong with using two attractive and intelligent women to increase traffic to the site? Sexuality sells and it is a very effective marketing tool.

Are the people who are complaining really turned off by the word "Chicks" or are they just threatened by good looking women who have brains? These young ladies are not being exploited or being asked to do something which is crass or tasteless. It is amazing how much this politically correct crap has brainwashed people, with these same individuals not even having a clue they are being brainwashed.

At the risk of understating the obvious, most conspiracy theorists have somewhat of an image problem. By incorporating two attractive and intelligent females into the mix, the management is kicking it up a notch and sticking it to all the plastic prototype bimbos you see in mainstream media.

You are a very wise fellow and I've known that since I've been a lurker since 2004. Problem is; something like this comes out every week. You are correct; there are people here set on making their (possibly one) goal and agenda made public, and hopefully (in their mind), a success or a debunking of someone's work.

I just hate to say that no matter how many of these posts are made, there will be no change. New people will come and new people will strive for internet credibility. It's all about respecting yourself, others, and valuing an OPINION that means something. Who's to judge though, right?

Peace and love,
C

It's neither of those things and many people pointed that out literally dozens of times in the other thread.

The argument is old and boring now.... but just for clarification, For the umpteenth time, because some people really cannot read the posts in a thread, Here you go.

Nobody is saying anything negative about these women, apart from the few idiots and rude people at the start, people have nothing but praise and respect for them.

I don't even think the main annoyance or anger is in response to the title of Conspiracy Chicks, although the name is cheap and tacky.

The most alarming thing and perhaps the most offensive is the titles/nicknames that were added to these ladies.

The Texas Hottie and the British Cutie
How do either of those add anything of quality to the feature?

This video, apparently, is not aimed at members and is not even really for us, It's to reach out to a new demographic and get more people interested in Conspiracies.... So why the need to add that they're hot or cute?

I don't see what it adds or how it's relevant to what ATS is trying to achieve.

As these monikers (Hottie/Cutie)were removed from the teaser trailer, there is no real issue left to be discussed.
I also think that many people were annoyed at the rude and petulant way that the genuine complaints of some members were dealt with by the owners and staff.
There was no need for it. People were invited via U2U, to discuss the matter on the appropriate thread and did so accordingly.
It's a shame that people couldn't discuss it in a mature and professional manner.

How come there's never a shred of doubt about ATS.
When you guys came here for the first time, weren't you impressed with all lights and flashes and sounds...this site looks so wonderful wooaaahh

A bit too good to be 'underground' maybe?
You don't think this site works a bit too well to not be funded by someone with money...
people with money, those are the enemy right ?

I must say, I still frequent this site because I believe honest beings come here and with that sometimes bring news.

On the other hand, THERES WAY TOO MUCH of it and here we are, 'fighting the good fight' (bahahaha) against each other over what theory is best.

animosity, confusion and a VERY good way too see what the peasant's are up to.
That's above top secret in a nutshell.

Ohyeah, the same people that care so much and know so much and make a place where all the lunatic conspiracy porno can get together
also have this belowtopsecret thing.

Come on, isn't that just a bit too much ?
Aren't those the exact things we're trying to get rid off?
Things that establish the ego.

This reeks people, keep on denying your ignorance. yes ... that's the message. MONEY"S AT THE TOP BUCK BUCK HOLLA HOLLA WHAT?!

I would just like to ad my two cents if that's okay- and then I will make my way out of here...

From where I was standing- the issue was more about the tactics this site is using more frequently to gain members & traffic. Not about the actual girls themselves.

I made an example of how the labels that were used shifts your perception of the intent of the show etc. That post was removed...which is understandable as it elaborated on the members.(Although I did not violate t&c) I also received a warning, for which no reason was given. But what's done is done. I did not violate any t&c to receive the warning and I feel that is why my request for a reason was ignored. They purely didn't like my comment. I can't believe I got my fist warning for no reason at all! You live, you learn right.

I would like to clarify that the "off topic post" of mine was marked off topic for calling out a mod to give me reason for my warning. It was nothing regarding Ashley or Asala, and I did not make any rude or snide remarks regarding the site or the thread.

This was truly the fist time I have ever spoken my mind/ stood up against an issue regarding ATS, because I felt passionate about protecting what the site stands for/ stood for. And I feel I did so with respect as well as standing my ground. I now realize, I have no say- and whatever will go will go. & I feel I will never be able to speak my mind here- if the mods are on the other side of the fence- the ganging up and picking on certain members- not talking about myself here- is becoming ridiculous. Seems one may violate t&c with no consequence as long as you are on whichever side the mods are.

Look, at the end of the day- we all will have different opinions- and the site will cater either for one or another- never both. It will cause many members to eventually slip away from the site- but so the site will evolve I suppose... What it will evolve into is a whole other topic and I prefer not to get into that.

If our comments were seen as negative because they were in opposition to yours- I'm sure we could argue forever about who is and is not truly negative- or what truly has a negative effect on the site. Now, I'm not talking $ negative- I'm talking morally and integrity wise. Some things have a domino effect and you only really notice it when it gets out of hand.

I apologize if I offended anyone in this thread or the other- I assure that was not my intention but rather doing what I thought was expected of members- and that is standing up for what they believe in.

Regards-

Sorry, just checked his profile and it seems he's not banned.

Yes, he has had a warning, but that's it.

I'm 100% certain he can speak for himself and will do when he is ready.

Jinx, I have seen far too many bannings in my time on ATS, some of which I have protested about to the highest level.

I have always thought that it is a tool too often used here and feel it is ironic that a site dedicated to questioning accepted facts should be moderated in such a manner.

As I'm sure you are aware I was active in the said thread and believe that he did nothing warranting even a temporary post ban, however, we are unaware of anything that went on behind the scenes.

Usually a 'banned' banner is present on a members profile when they are banned.

Perhaps either Kyle himself of a member of staff could clarify?

Jinx, perhaps you are not aware of it, but the "hottie" and "cutie" labels are now gone from the video and replaced with Asala's and AshleyD's names. I am grateful for that and appreciate it, I find it much more respectful towards the two women.

I agree that the discussion about the topic went a little out of hand and that some things were said (from both sides) which were uncalled for. But in the end the opinions of members like you and me who didn't like the labels WERE heard and taken seriously. So you didn't speak your mind in vain.

As far as I'm aware Kyleortonarmy only received a post ban and not an actual ban, so I'm sure as soon as the post ban is lifted, he'll be back and posting.

How many warnings does it take to warrant a post ban?

Does one receive a notice or what actually happens? I'm curious for personal reasons....
