Why do ALL prophecies and predictions have to be about us?

But again I have ask, why does everything have to be said in metaphors and symbolism?

Why not say it outright in plain talk?

well with my relatives it has a great deal to do with describing things they are not familiar with. if you subscribe to the fact that these elders had a vision of some type of the possible future then it just makes sense to realize these old ones saw things in their vision they did not recognize and must somehow describe to the people. factories, cars, cell phones, electricity etc. would be things they may have seen but had no idea what they were.
