its pretty simple really

US has economic depression
lack of extra money causes
tourism in DR to drop
a UFO sighting brings back
the tourist.

It's an economic hoax

LOL..you don't need to know Spanish to translate this video. The witnesses
are saying that there is an object in the air with lights that is moving back and
forth.

It's pretty obvious that this is some type of illuminated helium balloon that
is tethered to the ground over someone's back yard...probably for hours.
The TV news crew had time to gather their gear, drive over and film this
"exclusive" footage. Must have been a really slow news day in that part
of the country.

It's a bit annoying to know that every new UFO video can now be put down to an RC toy.

Edit:Spell fail.

If it is a toy 100's of people would have to be keeping that secret to get it on the news. The object they captured made no noise, seems much larger in relation to the skyline around it than the toy. The toy did not seem as able to remain so stationary and it made a lot of noise.

I am going to see if there are any other sightings from this date, with any images, or reports to compare them.

Other sighting reports around April 16th...

April 20th- similar object sighting in Johannesburg ...quiet, triangular, no lights on this one but that means nothing www.ufoevidence.org... Perhaps they were in town.

Apr 16th- This was also the night of the "meteor" we all saw filmed that looked a lot like a UFO crash... lol...
uforeportlive.ning.com...

Apr 16th- What is largely being reported as a hoax from Great Britain on the same day...ufos.about.com... different shaped vessel anyway but this is in the daytime....

Obviously a balloon or kite with lights wobbling in the wind.

That was my first impression based on how it was moving. Looks fairly small and close.

RE: your signature question: You might call it a balloon.
