No doubt it is. It's the church of your addicton. The entire 12-step program is designed as a method of religious conversion. Although not subscribing to any particular religion, it relies on god... oops, I mean "higher power" as an essential component. Several friends I knew who went all, not surprisingly, "found god" in their experience there.
