Just a thought. Could it be a reflection on the mist from some of the bright lights of the casino or other attractions in and around the falls? Kind of like a rainbow or sun dog, but from a different angle?

The mist is always there. And maybe if you look at it at just the right angle, you get the reflection.

I don't know.

Personally, I've never seen a bat (or a bird for that matter) stop stone dead in mid flight WITHOUT any DECELERATION.

I think we can rule out an animal.

The only thing I can think of is a lazer beam.

It depends on how the bird/bat/insect moves in the 3D space, if it makes a sharp turn and starts moving in your direction or away from you it will look as if it was stopped in the air, if you don't have any reference.

Those are pretty cool.

There is a place near where I live where it is very dark at night and you can't even pick out constellations that easily because every star is so plainly visible.

I've seen things like this moving in a straighter pattern, come to a stop, and continue in the opposite direction. I've been told 'stars' that have a faint brightness to them that move across the sky at night are most likely satellites.

In reference to the video, I have no idea why those are moving like they are, seemingly at random...

There's not enough resolution to notice a sharp turn, like those made by bats or swifts seen with that size, at the size we see those objects (whatever they are) I don't think we could see with the naked eye that type of deceleration.

I'm sure they do, and much love to them. I simply made an observation on a UFO video - I didn't realise I should have included an analytical essay...!

All I'm saying is that object seems to stop dead in mid air, without any slowing down. Sure, it could be explained by flying to or away from our perspective, but then the object doesn't appear to change size and/or slow down, which would be consistent with this.

I watched the video again and I couldn't see any time in which the object stops, could you point at what time that happens?

At 1:14 on the video the object definately comes to a momentary stop.

Also, at around 2:10, the object goes into an acceleration which would be pretty impressive for an animal...! All the accelerations in the video look unlike any birds I've seen...

Remember, video footage of an airborne object is a 2-d representation of 3-d space. If the object is moving toward or away from the camera it would appear motionless relative to the camera's point of view.

The object starts swooping just like a bat inside an insect swarm at that point, sharp turns and all. A sharp turn along the camera's axis would give the appearance of motionlessness.

As far as the acceleration, watch the stars relative motion closely during that stretch. Their apparent motion slows down considerably during the "acceleration". The camera was following the obect then slowed down for a few seconds. This change in the field of view showed an acceleration in relation to the camera only.

May I ask where you live? In the various places I've lived here in Orstraylia, the sort of birds/bats that can do this are common. Swallows, sparrows, fantails ('willy-wagtails'), robins, flycatchers, finches.. and then there's the insectivorous bats/flying foxes...

Have you never seen small birds fighting off larger ones? - the maneuvers they can perform are quite impressive. If they are flying at a reasonable speed, even a small bend of their wings can change their direction quite suddenly (note that bats have very large wing areas), and when you add that to the possibility of them flying towards or away from the camera, such accelerations and stops are well within their capabilities..

Does anyone know whatever happened with these events?

the Niagara UFO 'events' are still on going, just last week IT was back.

"it" was back this month again (August).

ther are people on thes threads that do giv me the giggles

please why waste ur time on silly explanations the speed in which its moving and the static then sudden rapid change in direction i see thes orbs as i call them at least once a night im in manchester right next to the airport and i do sumtimes get excited over a moving light in the sky till i see it flashing in sequence and getting lower
BUT and this is a big BUT the ones i can identifie are just like what u saw in the video.
