I had forgotten that along with today being tax day that it was also a day of Tea Party gatherings.
As I was coming out of the grocery store I noticed that there were some kids dressed in yellow making some signs in the parking lot. I could see a tea cup on one of the signs so I went over to ask them what they were about. They said that they were "teens againt the tea party". I asked them if they thought they were informed and a young girl spoke and said very informed. I told them that they had been mis-informed and a young man who must have been around 17 said "what's wrong with taxes?". I started to blow him out but my wife was with me and she doesn't like confrontation and wanted to go. I told them that they were basically Nazi youth and were decieved.
I am glad to see young people care about anything, but if this is a reflection of pre-voting teens across the country then the die has been cast for an Obama youth force. This is a small town in the South and seldom ever see any type protest or demonstrations, thats the shocking part.
So, will they be recruited? Will they report us when we say anything contrary about the government? Will they tell if we have unregistered firearms? Or perhaps if you are stocking food?
I see it forming. Rahm Emanuel has said in an interview that eventully the plan is for teens to serve two or three years ( I don't remember which) in public service and that this will be mandatory.
I so dread the future and what it holds. God help us all.

Hmmm.
so these kids disagree with you and you turn it into some elaborate paranoid fantasy about Obama and a police state?
Do I have that right?
Why insist that everyone think like you and be so easilt disturbed when they don't? Jeez man!

Lord have mercy...NO! Talk about jumping to conclusions. You missed the part where I live in a small area and never see any kind of protest. You missed the part where a 17 year old boy says "whats wrong with taxes?' I have no problem with someone having a different opinion. I do have a problem when a child is brain washed enough to embrace taxation without representation. What would you have done, given them a trophy for participating. You also missed the part about Rahm Emanuel stating that your kids will be required to do public service. Maybe you should read again.... or for the first time.

Looks like you have anger problems. Just because some teenagers are are becoming active in politics does not mean they're not all just voting for a candidate because a celebrity said so.

I applaud those young people for doing what they do. And why would
you care about their tax situation? What business is it of yours to go on
about what may be YOUR tax problems. I don't mind paying my share
of taxes at all. And I take it you are from the deep south where anything
that happens with youth is some sort of Nazi, Swastika crap. Maybe you
should get out into some of that refreshing southern air and get a grip.

Just my thoughts.

I don't believe attempting to grill them over their point of view would have done much good seeashrink. Being confrontational with youth only makes them reach for the 'off switch' sooner rather then later. If you find yourself with the chance to speak with them again, perhaps you could approach them with questions about their point of view and lead them into questioning their point of view themselves.

I think the best way to avoid having the youth reprogrammed during mandatory service years is to instill a solid foundation of morals, ethics, and constitutional responsibility before they reach that point. I'm well aware that this is easier said then done with today's average American parent. With the way current events are escalating around us though, I'm not entirely sure we'll have the opportunity to worry about future problems more so then immediate problems before long.

You asked them if they were informed, they said yes, then you contradicted them by telling them they had been misinformed?

Then you call them nazi's?

You were way out of line. You started to "blow him out"? If I been one of their parents lurking nearby, I would have definitely had a word with you.

Taking issues with teenagers who are trying to speak out about their beliefs? I'm sorry to hear you feel this way. Young people should be encouraged to speak out, and begin learning to make their opinions known. This is what free speech is all about. It hardly qualifies them as Nazi's. With this attitude, you, I'm not so sure about.

No, I don't live in the deep south. No I am not a hot head, actually just the opposite. I don't burn crosses and wear a pillow case for a hat. I do know when a bunch of liberals are driving my country into the ground and are treading on my freedoms. I too am glad to see young people involved as I stated in the OP, but I don't like seeing our young people, the very young people who's future is being robbed, brainwashed into accepting everything the government throws at them.
Help!!! I've fallen into a brainless liberals pit.

Thank you for a kind and well thought out reply. You're right. It would have been better to have approached them in an exchange of ideas manner. It was kind of a "drive by" questioning.
At least you see the problem.

George bush and obama increased government and its always going to get bigger.

What do you think 100,000's of people do when they work in all your alphabet agencies? Does your government pay them to twiddle there thumbs?

America is just like england you have what rights the government says you do. You people are not free, oh i forgot your free to buy a playstation. Oh man i forgot that makes you free.

Well this is one conservative who has posted on what you believe
is a liberalist thread. I couldn't care what stupid party or political
affiliation one is a part of. Free speech is free speech and a person
doesn't have to wear a tag around on the collar saying you can't practice
free speech because of being a conservative OR liberal. I don't get the
connection at all.

I don't think you've fallen into a brainless liberal pit (although that did strike me as funny).

I simply want you to think about what you did, and examine why your reaction was what it was.

This has more to do with your feelings/emotions and your political beliefs, than it does these teenagers out talking to people and trying to make a difference in what they believe.

In other words, I would like it very much if you would admit you were reacting to your own self, and that you were mistaken to react the way you do. Com'on. Admit you were wrong.

IOF: It's Obama's Fault.

Glad there weren't any of those pesky little Girl Scouts selling their liberal snacks. Their uniforms look just like Nazis.

You're the one who sounds like a nazi brown-shirt. I actually think a better name would be the tea-shirt movement. I hope you enjoy eating your cheap food (thanks to taxpayer subsidies) that you bought after driving on tax-payer funded roads.

Best,
Skunknuts

P.S. If you had tried that with me, I would have buried you, intellectually. I hope you aren't a hypocrite enjoying social security, Medicare, VA benefits, or any other 'socialistic' program. I hope you drive around with a shovel and asphalt in your trunk to fill potholes. I hope you deliver your own mail, fight your own wars and fires, have 911 forwarded to your own phone. It's at the point where conservatives are so brainwashed that they think that a government existing=nazism.

You don't like the interference of a functioning government--move to Afghanistan and enjoy your 'freedom.'

P.P.S. A big reason you got so pissed is you have been brainwashed to think that your radical unpatriotic view towards America and the commander in chief is vastly more widespread than it is. You saw some kids that pushed some reality into your bubble of delusional hate, and you reacted as expected. Watch your heart come November, you might experience something even more shocking....

its obvious that you don't understand that taxes are a good thing.
if people like you got your way, we'd be quick to come to a point where we could only fathom being serfs to a crown.

yes, the government is corrupt, but the tea party is nothing more than hypocrisy on the larger scale of things.

Get out of your delusions of freedom being free, and if you really are against the government; stop being american; stop using 250% more than you need; take up some more liberal causes; like thinking of more than the fact you might need to downgrade your charter service from premium pack to only hbo to afford an overstated lifestyle. how depressing...

the tea party movement is good on paper, i like it because its people trying to fix their country; but with it being so one-sided on issues, its useless children doing whatever the right asks them to. they say lame stream media; but they are only talking about msnbc. they follow fox news. they aren't americans fighting for THEIR views, its americans fighting for an unkept religious reinstatement filled with lies, hate, and malicious intentions, powered by fox news and sarah palin

I'm so glad the youth in this country starts to wake up from a long, long right-wing induced coma. Starts thinking. Starts caring. Good for them! Looks like for some people, it's too late...

Thats because there is not one. The issue is children being brainwashed into big government and that all taxation is just peachy.
