An eight-year-old girl was among six people shot dead in the Mexican holiday resort of Acapulco during a drug war shootout.
Those killed in the crossfire included the eight-year-old girl, her mother who had just picked her up from school, and a taxi driver.
A police officer also died and five people were wounded. No tourists were killed.
Police later arrested Ernesto Antonio Rocha Reyes, 26, a suspected hitman, who they said was an associate of Edgar Valdez Villarreal.
Villarreal, 37, an alleged Mexican-American drug trafficker who was born in Texas, is nicknamed "La Barbie" because his blue eyes and light complexion are said to make him resemble a Ken doll.
