Iceland evacuates hundreds as volcano erupts again

REYKJAVIK, Iceland — A volcano under a glacier in Iceland rumbled back to life Wednesday, melting ice, shooting smoke and steam into the air and forcing hundreds of people to leave their homes as floodwaters rose.

And there I was thinking that this had blown over like every other doomsday theory... Anyway, there is no sign of the plumes of volcanic ash that might indicate something serious for Europe, but Gudmusson said:

"Most probably this eruption is taking place at the summit ... under the ice,"

I hope they don't get serious floods this time.

The eruption is ongoing with more potential according to seismo's in Iceland.

There has certainly been plenty of ash fall on the webcam I've watched for the last 2 hrs and witnessed the snow in front of the webcam turn from white to black.. check out last posts on Volcano Watch thread www.abovetopsecret.com... or the new thread for this new part of the eruption event here: www.abovetopsecret.com...
