I started a thread (here) regarding a UFO sighting at Eyjafjallajökull yesterday evening. Never even thought to post it here instead. Anyway, here's the YouTube vid of it:

Any help with determing the cam used, time, possible aircraft flying reconnaissance (etc.) at that time/in the area would be much appreciated. I'm not having much luck... if you have any info feel free to post it here instead of my thread if you'd like.

Thanks and regards.

thank U for sharing it... very weird...
when tru... could be troubbles... when ufo's ore timetravellers visit the volcano now it could mean that the eyja eruption was just the prelude for an devastating event soon........Katla seems to be woken up now...

Er, that instrument is at Godabunga and not Katla. Whilst it is on the (possible) magma path to Katla it is not Katla itself and if you look at the full plot you will see that is no where near the level that it was when the last (third) eruption began. What I am meaning is that this instrument is between the two and picks up both, so an increase does not necessarily mean that it is at Katla. In addition it is the 2-4Hz signal that is increasing mostly and that is not the one to be concerned about as far as magma tremors are concerned.

As far as I can see there has only been one earthquake

Bear in mind that Katla often has earthquakes, and this is only a very minor one.

Back to the dumbing down on the TV Folks, nothing to see here yet

The lava has nearly reached the end of the glacier I believe so that is what all the steam is about.

Yah
I wonder if there's an Icelandic weather god we should be praying to

Freyr was a Norse god of weather and fertility; brother of Freya. The dwarves built Freyr a ship, Skidbladnir, that could hold all the gods or fit in his pocket. Freyr went as a hostage to the Aesir, along with Njord and Freya. He courted the giantess Gerd through his servant Skirnir.

If you look at the map for Grimsvotn I would have said there was much more to get them in a twist about.

I think we all realised that - and to watch it from its ingress at the top to the massive outpouring at the bottom as it happened was amazing

Looking forward to seeing the state of again today

It's getting light and can already see there's much more water at the base of the glacier with steam continuing but lesser rate and erratic. (Vodafone cams)

Roll on for another day of action
although looking quite quiet (even the crater) this morning

So far she's been very quiet... no steam, very little eruption cloud, no gushing water from glacier.... perhaps she's just having a wee nap and will wake up grumpy again soon

I'm allergic to mornings...

Check out Val cam - a v. different view - I think it's now pointing at the glacier or is it the "other side" of the glacier??

Shame about the clouds
- must catch up on work so will check back later and hope they've blown away!

Just noticed you are in Venlo! I used to know Venlo and Roermond area well as was living in Elmpt (Bruggen) and go shopping in Venlo!
Ahhh Friks and Frites...

another earthquake dotted yellow has been added to the seismic map of katla. check it out?

en.vedur.is...

EDIT LATEST: Two RED earthquakes new on the map one on top of the two yellows on top of katla and the blue on eyja. One red earthquake at bottom of the Katla volcano and one on top of eyja

And i think i see a smoke plume. Perhaps not, you decide

Katla is getting ready to blow and i can't help but think the two red earthquakes (recent) are somehow connected, they appeared simultaniously

So, three earthquakes at katla in 12 hours.

EDIT: They seem to have removed the two latest red earthquakes.

That's strange - the two red ones (colour indicates time since event) have gone - they haven't changed colour - just gone ?

I wonder, might it have been reviewed and found to be something else - perhaps avalanche or land slip?
