According to the guy whose recorder that is:

"My geophone has it main frequency at 4.5Hz, it can go up to 60Hz and down to 1Hz properly. I lowpass filter the plots at 5Hz so everything above that gets cut, but is not necessary gone from the plots. Currently there is some man made noise on my plots, that are the spikes that appear."

Yea lol I know what the man made noise was, there was a dude on a JCB on the Hekla Cam.. I did think, noooooooo but now you said that it's quiet funny lol

Reminds me of that JCB song

Altered Lyrics to fit the occasion

Well, I'm rumblin' in this JCB.
I'm screwed because there is magma underneath me.
And the engine rattles helicorder goes berserk
While we're singin, 'Gorden Browns a Jerk!'

My dad's probably had a bloody hard day
And Gordon Brown Took all his pay
He left all our banks behind
We are gettin all impatient and angry, but we dont mind.

An' we're holdin up the big planes
oh
Ash... magma and big flames
oh woah

Sittin on the Time Bomb
oh
And I'm so glad I'm not in school, MoM
So glad I'm not in school

Oh no...

And we pull over to let cars past
And pull off again, speedin by ash covered grass
And we're like giants up here in our big yellow digger
Like zoids, or transformers, or maybe even bigger

And I wanna transform into a Tyrannosaurus Rex!
And eat up all the bullies and Governments and Debts
And I'll tell all my mates that my dad's B.A. Baracus
And he don't like them Flying Crackers

And We're holdin up the Big Planes
Weh Oh
Ash... Magma and Big Flames
Weh Oh weh oh

Sittin on the Time Bomb
Weh Oh
And I'm so glad I'm not in school, MoM
So glad I'm not in school

And we're holdin up the Big Planes
Weh Oh

Ash... Magma and Big Flames
Weh Oh
I'm sittin on the Time Bomb
Weh Oh

And I'm so glad I'm not in school, MoM
So glad I'm not in school

Said I'm Luke, I'm five, and my dad's Bruce Lee. Drives me round in his JCB.
I'm Luke, I'm five, and my dad's Bruce Lee. Drives me round in his JCB.
I'm Luke, I'm five, and my dad's Bruce Lee. Drives me round in his JCB.
I'm Luke, I'm five, and my dad's Bruce Lee. Drives me round

And we're holdin' up the Big Planes
Weh Oh

Me and my dad havin a top laugh
Weh Oh
And I'm sittin on the Volcano
oh

? Show over - Where? When? According to the web cam I see massive amounts of water gushing, and according to the Tremor graph , while there was a dip it is still above level before yesterdays rise. Or did I miss something?

Don't know if this has been posted, but here is some pretty amazing aerial footage of the volcano erupting:

and this is even more amazing, showing what appear to be shockwaves coming from the eruption as it happens:

A few updates:

Institute of Earth Sciences

Eruption update 22 April Similar situation as yesterday (see 21 April report) Seismic tremor recorded by the Icelandic Meteorological Office: Some fluctuations, with a peak shortly after midnight 22 April related to a small flood of meltwater. Since the onset of the explosive eruption the tremor has overall been gradually increasing, with superimposed fluctuations. Visual observations yesterday: Regular explosions at intervals of few minutes were observed in afternoon, with fluctuations in intensity and tephra content.

NASA Earth Observatory

Eyjafjallajökull Volcano has quieted considerably over the past few days, with ash emissions continuing but only rising to a height of 20,000 feet (6,100 meters), according to the Joint Air Force & Army Weather Information Network. A thin ash plume extends southwards from Eyjafajallajökull in this natural-color satellite image acquired at 12:35 p.m. on April 21, 2010. The image was collected by the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) aboard NASA’s Terra spacecraft. White snow and ice still covers much of the volcano, while the low lying land to the west, south, and east is snow free. A red box at the eruption site signifies that MODIS detected significant heat, possibly from the lava in the volcano’s caldera. Sediment from the Markarfljót River, swollen from runoff from the melting ice atop Eyjafjallajökull, hugs the Icelandic shoreline.

And as an aside, a well put argument in Eruptions over the political fallout from the airspace closure:

How the right decision is being made to look wrong...

Speaking of pronunciation, This is a riot. Appears quite a few people are having a hard time with the 16 letter name.

There is a huge difference in the glacier compared to yesterday. I can't believe how fast it is melting.
