Need I remind you folks the Sheriff had this power under 287g, until they started to abuse it...

The racist whites gave up their own authority out of abuse.

Also you can't prosecute someone for being here illegally it's not a CRIME, it's an administrative offense. If it was a crime we would have to try them in a regular court of law to deport them. By making it an administrative offense you can rapidly (in some cases) deport them without the red tape. It happens every day at the border.

Don't worry. They can always come to California. We'll accept them with open arms! Welfare, free hospital care, free school, get paid under the table without paying taxes, ad infinitum! Its not like we are running out of money or anything. So don't worry everyone, they're gonna be fine. Los Angeles has plenty of room for them to live and plenty of free services for them to take advantage of.

Crossing the border without proper credentials and permission is indeed a crime, and a serious one!

I wont bother reading beyond this until I make THIS point.

Again...

crime
–noun
1.an action or an instance of negligence that is deemed injurious to the public welfare or morals or to the interests of the state and that is legally prohibited.
dictionary.reference.com...

crime
n. a violation of a law in which there is injury to the public or a member of the public and a term in jail or prison, and/or a fine as possible penalties. There is some sentiment for excluding from the "crime" category crimes without victims, such as consensual acts, or violations in which only the perpetrator is hurt or involved such as personal use of illegal drugs.
dictionary.law.com...

Oh hi, me again.

Yeah so once again a CRIME is when you cause loss or harm to another or their property.

None of that occurs by sticking your feet passed an invisible line.

So any other incorrect propoganda I can clarify for you?

You are right it's not a crime to come into the country illegally, it's against our law but it's not a crime that can be prosecuted in a normal court of law. If it was normal citizens would never get a day in court.

So, are you claiming that literally millions of illegal immigrants have not harmed the public welfare in any way? Are you claiming that my bankrupt Masonary company was not harmed by illegal work practices? Are you claiming that a bankrupt Social Security and Medicare system was not harmed by fraudelent claims? Are you claiming that the El Paso policemen were not harmed by people stepping across an invisible line? Are you claiming that the $250,000 bounty on Border Patrol agents won't get anybody hurt? Are you claiming that the farmer in Texas that lost his home because he defended himself was not injured? Are you claiming that if we see someone pulling a scud missile on the back of an old chevy across an illegal line, we should wait to see what they do with it? Are you claiming that we don't need CIA or FBI or Military Intel, because none of it matters until after the fact?

There is such a thing as "crime prevention." In my opinion, anybody with good intentions will cross the border through legal channels. Anybody that chooses to cross the border illegally, obviously has illegal intentions.

Most just come here to smuggle drugs or for work. If AMERICAN's didn't hire them there wouldn't be a demand for their labor.

Obviously if something is illegal it means it's bad...

Know how I know you're racist? You keep jumping from one conclusion to another that makes no logical sense. Just to lump everyone up in a basket labeled "violent illegal hispanics, here to take our jobs, and rape our women"

OH WAIT THIS SOUNDS LIKE THE EXACT SAME ARGUMENT THEY USED DURING THE FIRST GREAT DEPRESSION TO CRIMINALIZE CANNABIS AND CREATE RACIAL TENSION TO GET RID OF HISPANICS.

Oh but wait this is different, because cannabis is already illegal. And the news says the economy is fine.

Do you know how we used to do it just hardly 100 years ago? Immigrants could come on ship, or walk who cares. They would buy some land (then only a few dollars an acre), or work.

No visas, no green cards, no passports, none of this socialist identification stuff.

Not true.
As for immigration hundreds of years ago, it was indeed different, but it was still documented. Ellis Island has documentation. Each Ship had a roll. Even the Native Americans were put on rolls throughout the 1800's.

Also not true about "voluntarily" paying taxes. There is some dispute about "fees" being voluntary, and it is about to be tested in Florida, but taxes are certainly not voluntary. They are voted upon, and approved, and criminal penalties result when they are not paid. Just ask Willie Nelson, or Wesley Snipes!

* * * * * * * *
Believe me, I want the immigration process streamlined, and I see the need for that labor force. But the idea that anybody can waltz across our border unchecked kind of destroys my sense of security, seeing as how my government is pissing off most of the world on a daily basis!

I feel your pain, I agree that it is a repressive society, and I "should" have the right to have a baby in my home and not tell anybody, but that is not the world we live in. The "sovereign" argument for individuals sounds great, but it has not worked, and it will not work. It doesn't matter how they spell my name on my Driver's License, or what I declare in court, if my DNA matches a suspect of a crime, and witnesses identify me, then I am going to jail, no matter how loudly I proclaim my independence from their corporate law!

Maybe we should "de-escalate" the conversation some. Your point of view is terrific, it just won't work in our current society, and you idea that I am somehow "socialist" because I abide by the law is ridiculous.

I play the game at hand as well as I can, but I don't argue with the referee or tear up the rule book. Now, if I can influence the evolution of the game in a positive way to make it better for my children, so be it. But, for now, I expect the rules to be enforced equally and strictly.

The last I looked most americans don't carry their Birth Certificate with them, also when you carry all of those documents it opens the door for them to be stolen. Which then leads to fraud, because those identity paper will pave the way for 20 more illegals.

That will be easy to fix. Just make everyone have a chip implant.

God I hope not...

I wouldn't want this country to come to that.

www.abovetopsecret.com...

Here is an old thread of mine about how to fix immigration.

I don't agree that "most" immigrants are here to smuggle drugs or commit violent crimes. In my community most violent crimes are committed "against" the illegal immigrants, because they are known to hoard cash, and not call the police for fear of deportation. Therefore, our criminal types target them, and we have a lot of break-ins and assaults on illegal immigrants.

Still, if even one illegal immigrant happens to also be a known drug smuggler, or arms dealer, or terrorist, and they walk across the border with 100 other decent people, and they blow up Phoenix, or Denver, then people will all be crying, "why didn't we stop them."

If we don't "racial profile" and someone who fits a description sneaks into Tallahassee and runs rampant on the student population, public outcry will go crazy. (See today's "Gun Control" thread where I posted about the missing FSU student).

If you want to change the law fine. Go for it. But in the mean time, lets enforce what we have, and protect our country, and protect our people, and protect our Social Services, and protect our tax money, and protect our Government from infiltration, and protect our police force from bounties on their heads!

At least they checked in!

Yes, it was a simpler time. A better time. The US was coveted instead of despised.

Yes, like I said, I support immigration fully. I just expect them to check in at the gate.

I've heard it all now.

The hispanics are here to infiltrate our government with their covert espionage border crossers! Enemy combatants!

He doesn't mean espionage, it was the possibility of massive violence at the hands of an illegal. Its natural security.

To protect the government from infiltration, has a very specific meaning. Because the government is not synonymous with the country.

Now who is racist?

Why do they have to be Hispanics? Why couldn't a Kenyan cross the Southern border with a group of Mexicans?

Why couldn't a Russian?

I have said "Mexicans" specifically a few times. There are many "white" Mexican citizens. The funniest thing I ever heard from a working crew of illegals follows: I speak some Spanish, and it used to be a lot better. A crew was working near me and I didn't understand why they continually kept calling this scrawny young kid a "Guatemalen." I finally got too curious and asked them why they were calling him that. Their answer, "Guatamalens are trash, they keep sneaking across our border and stealing all the good jobs!"
From a crew of illegal aliens!

Ive always thought to myself those that support illegal immigration and call those that do not racists are pretty ignorant to say the least. And to those people who think this way ive always wanted to ask them this.

Why is it fair just because mexico borders with the USA they get to cross the borders freely? How is that fair to the ones in countrys worse off who cant because of distance?

ITS NOT FAIR! Think of all the other 3rd world countries citizens worse off than Mexican citizens who cant cross the border because seas separate them from the US. Are mexicans better than ethiopians for example????

To all those that support illegal immigration i declare you racists!!! Because you arent fighting to have a bridge built or boat service from here to Africa to allow those people to come over just because they arent located on our borders!!!! You are essentially saying the mexican citizens are better than they are.

Its a sad world but reality is we can not be fair to everyone. Either all can come here illegally which isnt possible because america would be over populated or NONE can come here illegally. And thats not even looking at it from a security standpoint thats looking at it from a moral standpoint.

ABOUT DAMN TIME!!!!!! Should have been passed long ago. Race is not even an issue anymore, its about these drugs and murders, that is the problem. I say we even shoot on site, because these border patrol dudes are being laughed at through a snipers scope. They keep bringing drugs and gangs, we dont need that we have enough of it......shoot on site....they see that sign they will # their pants.

If this passes, New Mexico and other border states are going to have to follow suit or the illegals will start flocking to the states that welcome illegals - like New Mexico.
