6.9 Earthquake Hits Tibet

A magnitude 6.9 quake hit China's Tibet autonomous region on Wednesday, the USGS said.

The quake was centered 152 miles north northwest of Qamdo in Tibet and had a depth of 20.5 miles, it said.

To repeat what I just posted in the latest China quake thread ... the number and severity of earthquakes within this magnitude range are demonstrably shown to be on the increase.

How weird. When I posted this it stated that the earthquake was in Tibet.

Now if you click on the link it says:

The U.S. Geological Survey says a magnitude 6.9 earthquake has struck China's western Qinghai province.

The USGS reported on its Web site that the epicenter of the temblor was located 235 miles south-southeast of Golmud, a large city in Qinghai, at a depth of 29 miles.
