Has anyone noticed how the climate debate in our politics seemed to have gone in hiding. Well one of the CEO's or the main player in Climate Gate was ambushed by the producer of "Factor"....

I guess Mr. Ex VP was trying to avoid getting questions regarding...

Artic Ice Increased.....

“The recent observations do make the 2007 projections that the region would be ice free by 2013 look very unrealistic. Given what is happening only the foolish would look many years into the future and predict ice free summers now.”

Scientists predict a mini Ice Age

Climate scientists warned this week that a mini ice age is likely to last for the next 20 to 30 years. The Daily Mail reported: The bitter winter afflicting much of the Northern Hemisphere is only the start of a global trend towards cooler weather that is likely to last for 20 or 30 years, say some of the world’s most eminent climate scientists. Their predictions – based on an analysis of natural cycles in water temperatures in the Pacific and Atlantic oceans – challenge some of the global warming orthodoxy’s most deeply cherished beliefs, such as the claim that the North Pole will be free of ice in summer by 2013.

So until Mr. Ex VP is able to come up with a appropriate spin on the new data and relate it to Global Warming, we will be seeing more dodging of questions and interviews.

Fox news did this?

I'm stunned? Perhaps they are trying to claw back a little credibility after all the rubbish they put out, and have been exposed for... Sadly it is too little too late in my opinion.

I'm glad though, that at least someone is prepared to take the stand and ask the questions.

We should all be doing this, and doing it every second of every day.

Looks like climategate was a sham.

www.foxnews.com...

In their report, the committee said that, as far as it was able to ascertain, "the scientific reputation of Professor Jones and CRU remains intact," adding that nothing in the more than 1,000 stolen e-mails, or the controversy kicked up by their publication, challenged scientific consensus that "global warming is happening and that it is induced by human activity."

Again the same old myth about the Arctic ice increasing.

Lets look at the science, when we talk about the amount of Arctic ice we are talking about VOLUME not AREA. For example.. NASA Satellite Reveals Dramatic Arctic Ice Thinning

PASADENA, Calif. – Arctic sea ice thinned dramatically between the winters of 2004 and 2008, with thin seasonal ice replacing thick older ice as the dominant type for the first time on record. The new results, based on data from a NASA Earth-orbiting spacecraft, provide further evidence for the rapid, ongoing transformation of the Arctic's ice cover.

....

Previously, scientists relied only on measurements of area to determine how much of the Arctic Ocean is covered in ice, but ICESat makes it possible to monitor ice thickness and volume changes over the entire Arctic Ocean for the first time. The results give scientists a better understanding of the regional distribution of ice and provide better insight into what is happening in the Arctic.

"Ice volume allows us to calculate annual ice production and gives us an inventory of the freshwater and total ice mass stored in Arctic sea ice," said Kwok. "Even in years when the overall extent of sea ice remains stable or grows slightly, the thickness and volume of the ice cover is continuing to decline, making the ice more vulnerable to continued shrinkage. Our data will help scientists better understand how fast the volume of Arctic ice is decreasing and how soon we might see a nearly ice-free Arctic in the summer."

In recent years, the amount of ice replaced in the winter has not been sufficient to offset summer ice losses. The result is more open water in summer, which then absorbs more heat, warming the ocean and further melting the ice. Between 2004 and 2008, multi-year ice cover shrank 1.54 million square kilometers (595,000 square miles) -- nearly the size of Alaska's land area.

So that is the science. The ice is going away even though the seasonal freezes cover the same area, the overall VOLUME of ice is declining. This is data, pure and simple, not politics and there is nothing here about why it is happening, just that it is happening. As for your other citation, it is from FOX news which has lost its reputation as being a factual news source as with most of the US media.

Nice try there, The only sham here is you trying to distort the link you provided.

Here is something you omitted from the the same link you provided...

Scientists-Cleared after one day probe

However, lawmakers stressed that their report -- which was written after only a single day of oral testimony -- did not cover all the issues and would not be as in-depth as the two other inquiries into the e-mail scandal that are still pending. Phil Willis, the committee's chairman, said the lawmakers had been in a rush to publish something before Britain's next national election, which is widely expected in just over a month's time. "Clearly we would have liked to spend more time of this," he said, before adding jokingly: "We had to get something out before we were sent packing."

So the jury is still out on this one,

Below is the most recent image I was able to get regarding the Artic Ice.

Though it doesn't show the thickness of Ice but I am sure something is going to become available soon enough. Its not like NASA has anything to hide or ever manipulated anything.

Hmm, so Scotland had its coldest weather for 30 years and this means global warming is not happening........soooo what does a 6 degrees above average easter weekend mean!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ooops. Maybe folks should learn the difference between weather and climate.

FYI neither unusual cold nor unusual warm weather means a frigging thing! what does matter is trends:

Receding glaciers (perfect indicators of average temperature).
Moving flora and fauna (northwards) again indicators of average temperture increases.
Records of caterpillar metomorphosis occuring earlier - average temperatures increasing

etc etc etc

There is a shed load of data. The skeptics choose to ignore it.

Are you kidding me? This was not good journalism, this was an out and out hit job! A good journalist does not ambush a potential interviewee out of the blue and expect answers or for that matter dialogue.

No journalist should ever believe they have the right to interview anyone, those are granted by the graciousness of the interviewee, no one but public opinion can ever force someone to be interviewed by the press.

There is an accepted and proper way to push for an interview: the journalist must convince the public to advocate for them. Bullying their way into getting a sit-down is incredibly unethical, instead the desired interviewee must be pressured by the public on behalf of the journalist.

If you want Vice President Gore to go on Fox News, write him letters, write blogs, make your opinion known and have everyone else you know do the same thing. Have public outcry that demands a response. Do not wait for some sensationalist "journalist" to act like an idiot on your behalf!
